COVID-19: Chapter 10 - Mission Achomlished!

If you think the idea that the Director of the FBI ffs going on cable news to disclose this sorta theory about what might be a likely origin or covid being Chinese carelessness or worse, the Pentagon commenting on balloons that have been seen before and gone without comment, and the State department publicly commenting on Chinese propaganda in support of Russia all happening while there’s been increasing news about China/Taiwan and in the same month that the US reached a deal for 4 new military bases in The Philippines reminds you of 9//11 trutherism, then…well, it’s hard to be this polite, but…I think that’s pretty wrong.

Also it would be analogous to the USA using 9/11 as a reason to invade, not the USA fucken doing 9/11 lmao

Yeah, that’s exactly right. It would be as if the USA government said nothing about 9/11 before invading Afghanistan because they didn’t need to. They just let capitalism do the talking.

Claiming that the USA is using this talk to support whatever military base in Asia y’all are referring to is dumb. No one gave a shit about those bases, and there’s no additional support needed to do whatever with them. There’s no controversy on those bases

Can’t speak for USA but bases are a pretty noteworthy issue in Australia at the moment and have been for years. And our previous government did work super hard to make us USA’s south pacific bffl. I mean I guess it’s a bigger issue with politicians than the public but most of the public dgaf about anything.

Yeah but not the USA, like at all.

I could buy some sort of reason that makes sense or a general escalation of fuckery, but specifically for these based?

99% of America have no idea about these bases

I mean, if you want to argue that there’s anti-Chinese rhetoric out there because the US military industrial complex wants to argle-bargle and get enriched by talking up the threat of China, I mean, fine. I’m not sure that’s falsifiable, but it’s at least in the realm of the reasonable. The notion that it’s new now is patently absurd. The talking points from AQ’s own posts have been out there since 2020. Three years old.

Reasonable people can disagree how often it happens.

Only lunatics believe 9/11 was internally directed as a pretext to enter the ME.

Only children believe it never happens.

A healthy skepticism doesn’t mean one must adopt full throttle skepticism else be labeled naive.

Why does this keep getting brought up lmao

Because one can never be too skeptical of the government.

If I understand correctly from other threads, the US is on a par (if not worse) than Russia, so genocide of one own’s people has to be in its range.

US murders other people. You sound like a child. You’re insinuating being a nut is in my range because I post things that are clearly true, but you don’t like talked about.

Operation Barrel Roll was a covert U.S. Air Force 2nd Air Division and U.S. Navy Task Force 77, interdiction and close air support campaign conducted in the Kingdom of Laos between 14 December 1964 and 29 March 1973 concurrent with the Vietnam War. The operation resulted in 260 million bombs being dropped on Laos, making Laos “the most heavily bombed nation in history”.

And I’m not even accusing the US of lying here. I’m accusing it of doing public relations. That’s not even controversial except among children.

It’s not a bad thing for the US to do some PR here.

Yeah, we are simply going to disagree on the likelyhood of the intent. If you were offended by my mention of 911 then I apologize. It wasn’t a good comparison anyway. It isn’t a big deal.

I think it’s an anti-China lens. Not that stuff Is being made up, just that people looking for zebras find zebras- even if they don’t see stripes. Very akin to WMD.

AQ is right on the nose here- post facto justification for Iraq War part deux. Not an inside job.

Until they show SCIENCE they need to shut up.

Basically

*These claims are useless without evidence”

I agree with you in principle, but some very large percentage Americans basically believes that the government should be constantly apologizing for delivering services in exchange for taxes. THAT’S SOCIALISM!

I’m not suggesting that public relations shouldn’t happen. I’m saying that when a government official of any kind including the Director of the FBI while on the job is talking to the press on the record, in front of a camera or not, it is public relations. In this context, public relations, messaging and propaganda are all synonyms. What they are saying may be true or not, and you are wise to be skeptical, but regardless, they are doing it with some intent other than they simply love to talk and happened to be in front of a camera or they just get a warm and fuzzy feeling when the citizens of the United States hear the truth.

So, in this case you are wise to wonder, ‘hey, why is the FBI talking about this on television in Feb 2023?’

I’m with you 100%, I was just calling out that in USA #1, The Greatest Country In The World, a vast number of people think the government should always be apologizing for existing. The right wing propaganda machine has successfully convinced a lot of people that government is an unnecessary evil (when it comes to domestic affairs). I think the government should do way more public relations across the board, to combat the wide spread ignorance of millions of people that want the government to Stay Out Of Their Way but that depend on the government entirely for their privileged lifestyle.

I don’t think this contradicts what you were getting at, it’s more consistent with what you are saying than contrary to it.
