Why didn’t they talk about the balloons years ago? Dunno. It’s now that they decided to launch an anti-China propaganda campaign.
What? You’re going to need to show your work here.
No. I mean the China lab leak. Why didn’t the FBI and these other entities state that was the genesis of COVID when it began?
Because they didn’t want to launch an anti-China propaganda campaign at that time. Now they do. The covid story is just something they brought into it - now. It’s not about covid or balloons or China taking out ads on facebook about Russia. It’s almost certainly about Taiwan and stuff like the US recently adding 4 more bases in the Philippines and justifying the build up there and paving the way for more in the future.
The president of the united states called it kung flu in 2020.
Legitimate agency positions, e.g., FBI. As is the topic being discussed currently.
ETA: also, Trump’s xenophobia notwithstanding, it’s not inconsistent with other xenophobia related to wet markets (the original theory of genesis)
Didn’t see the post, but to head off a discussion that if an agency is going to state lab leak > wet market with any level of confidence then they need to show their work. The available information done as peer reviewed research of good reputation is wet market >>> lab leak.
Not unpossible. But the best actual science has to offer at this point in time.
That’s not xenophobia homes. That’s how this shit frequently happens, and the best evidence we have for it.
Because the coordinated escalation against China wasn’t happening then. It is now
Hahahahahahaahahhaahhaha. Oh wow.
Yeah, 100%. I think covid linked in some way to the Wuhan coronavirus research labs is more likely than not, but no one should believe the government saying this with no publicly available evidence. And you should be suspicious of their motivations, I think you’re right that there’s a good chance that it’s just nationalistic anti-China warmongering from China hawks within the Biden administration.
Why would they even bother to launch such a campaign even if your assumptions on their motives in the future are correct?
It seems similar to when 9/11 truthers stated that the US sent up Billy Bob to crash a plane into the WTC to pave a way to enter the ME. They could have both done what they wanted to in both instances and nobody would have given a shit anyway. No reason to get theatrical here about it to the public.
That reasoning would apply to any US propaganda aimed at the public ever. I guess you don’t believe that’s ever happened.
Yeah, they could theoretically launch wars without propaganda, or build up for them anyway, but public support is actually important.
I’m not even suggesting lies, but did you know the US government did lie when it made the case for invading Iraq? (Twice if you remember the incubators)
But, similar to truthers, right?
So your understanding is that Micro claims the USA planted the virus in a Chinese lab, and the balloons were false flag?
No, I hold the opinion that you’ve got every bit of Anti China antipathy already and the “propoganda” with the balloons and Chinese Ads is more of a function due to today’s capitalism than some attempt to build public support in this instance for whatever reason.
It’s a function of how journalism works, which is that journalists report on press releases and whatever the government official told them over cocktails
An offensive realism framework would probably predict that the US would adopt anti-China measures to prevent China from gaining full regional hegemony and that this attitude towards China would be the same no matter which party is in power.
