COVID-19: Chapter 10 - Mission Achomlished!

no way to tell

Wait wut? Anyone every show up looking to dispose of ā€¦. Something? Seems lucrative.

ianad, but that seems extremely unlikely.

Why? If you got exposed and fought off infection it seems that might stimulate an immune response. Like pumping the iron sort of.

Itā€™s the central location for the district so they handle most of the cremations for the metro area. Sheā€™s gone from being a director to just running the crematory. She misses 5-10 days = a lot more bodies piling up in the mobile cooler backlog they already have.

Donā€™t think anyone has tried to sneak her something nefarious to dispose of. Would be a good spot for a serial killer.

If you were exposed and didnā€™t get infected, I would guess you non-adaptive immune system took care of the job and your body didnā€™t bother making antibodies.

Yes somewhere around there iirc

Seriously. What kind of controls are on creamatoriums? Seems like a good connect for people needing to disappear bodies.

I think that only the adaptive immune system is going to be able to mount a defense specifically against covid, right? If the innate immune system could handle it, we wouldnā€™t be in a pandemic, would we?

We were just talking about a strain that has the infectivity of Omicron and morbidity of Delta.

Well, looks like there is an actual Deltacron

I would say that virtually any contact with the immune system consequential enough to cause a response would be an asymptomatic infection. I think some infections would be so low level that theyā€™re not even detectable as asymptomatic infections, but maybe Iā€™m wrong and PCR is too sensitive for that.

Yeah contamination seems by far the most likely explanation a priori.

Oh no. Bad science?

Everybody knows if they donā€™t cluster on the phylogenetic tree that itā€™s bullshit!

The right people know.

Iā€™m giving my good friend who was raised on Cypress shit. Heā€™s a PhD chemical engineer that works in industrial biotechnology.

I agree but that doesnā€™t necessarily mean you would test positive in all such cases, correct?

I would have gone with Omicronta.

Wasnā€™t this a plotline on Breaking Bad. Or Better Call Saul? Iā€™m vaguely remembering exactly what you are describing.
