Seems bad.
Feels awkward to be back at school mask-free. Case numbers have stayed pretty stable for the last 2-3 weeks. Number of covid hospitalizations is the lowest itâs been in about 2 months. The percentage of critical cases has also decreased dramatically.
But 8-10 thousand cases per weekday is still a lot even if the extreme majority of them arenât severe.
Why are only one-third of Hong Kong elderly people vaccinated?
Their overall policy approach has been more based on lock downs than vaccinations. And their lockdown measures are not like Western âlockdownâ measures, like closing bars and gyms and making you wear a mask to the grocery store. HK lockdown measures for the elderly in old age homes was more like âno one is allowed to come in here, you canât see your family, tough luckâ.

IIRC there werenât huge differences in the reported summer peak numbers between NY/Cali and the shitty south. It certainly wasnât that big.
And thatâs just Delta data.

Dying to own the libs
With head of Pfizer saying four shots necessary, anyone have four yet? Whatâs the timing for a fourth shot?
Iâm planning to get my 4th asap, but was actually eligible and recommended a while ago due to being immunocompromised. Still have really good antibody level from the booster I got in September, so thatâs giving me some peace of mind.

I am not eligible yet but will get boosted when I can. The guidance from the Ontario government is currently just for immunocompromised people, but they are saying 3 months after the third shot. I got my 3rd shot around the beginning of the year so I assume that it will be a good idea for me to go for round 4 as soon as eligible (which will be > 3 months).

While Florida is old, Georgia and Texas are in the bottom 5 for percentage of people who are 65+.
I think it must be something else causing these excess death numbers. Canât quite figure it out.
Supposedly the Czech government will give a booster five months after your last. But simultaneously theyâve only okayed fourth shots for the elderly, immunocompromised, and health care and nursing home workers.
My five months is coming up at the end of this month
