Florida doing good work. 40,000 cases, 1715 deaths. That’s only a 4% death rate!
It’s just the flu, bro!
Wonder if/when they’ll end the Florida/Georgia/South Dakota experiment?

Gotta say that I am about to lose it at some people in my fairly immediate family. My wife’s parents are in their 60s and neither is in very good health. In their spare time they travel around Kansas selling crafts and knick knacks as a hobby. Kansas just reopened a few days ago and they were at two different craft shows/flea market type things yesterday and today. And that doesn’t really begin to talk about the majority of people in both of our families not taking it seriously and posting pictures on FB all over the place. This is after we have both harped on our older relatives hardcore about staying home as much as possible.
In semi-related news my wife’s ICU unit has quite a few Covid patients and for the first time in over a decade of nursing all of my wife’s patients died today.
If we want to open bars before a vaccine in a safe and responsible manner, it’s going to be outdoor bars only, and table service only - no mingling with other tables. Probably like 6 feet between tables, max of 4 people to a table - something like that.
Jesus Christ man, I’m really sorry to hear that. I can’t even imagine. Dunno how much she knows about all of us here at Unstuck, but if she’s in the loop on the happenings here, pass along a heartfelt thank you. She’s one of the heroes in this and so many of us are so appreciative of what people like her are going through to try to fight this on the front lines.
There’s like zero chance of that being successfully enforced.
Or profitable. Is the government going to subsidize bars for all the empty seats?
Very sorry to hear this WichitaDM sending my for you and the wife.
It’s a different experiment, the Plains never locked down.
I pretty much send her the bestof type posts from here so she knows you guys exist. She probably appreciates me being able to rant here instead of at her. I’m sure she will appreciate what you said and I will pass it on. She made an account here when it first OPENED UP FOR BUSINESS but I don’t think she has ever posted and to my knowledge doesn’t lurk at all.
Send your wife our love. I know how deeply that stuff hurts them.
There’s like zero chance of anything being enforced. See my post from last night. We’re ramming into this brick wall with the throttle wide open, the speedometer pegged, and the gas pedal mashed to the floor. Airbags off, seat belts off, blasting R Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly!”
I’m just shooting the shit about how it would have to be done to be safe and responsible.
Look at those stupid selfish americans they can’t go without a haircut to save peoples lives…
UK :
Is the invention of the newspaper the worst thing to ever happen to humanity?
I’m leaning towards the idea that too many people will not be capable of responsible social distancing while drunk, so maybe public drinking needs to go away for a while even when things are allowed to open up a little.
Just got done listening to the botulism episode of This Podcast Will Kill You and now blood sausages are up there with venison on my list of stuff I’m never, ever eating.
I just looked and Thrasher’s Fries is open. WAAF.
Lol good luck. The only thing that brings all political stripes together from the most hardcore maga dude slamming buds to the highest strung of all the Karen’s having wine Wednesday to the biggest dirt bag lefty is that alcohol is awesome. Which it’s not, obviously it sucks but I’m basically the only person who thinks so.
I’ll be at the statehouse with my gun. After I go out and buy one.
He isn’t patriot enough for a 1 time order
No, that would be the printing press.
