Fight Club is very nearly in the ‘love the band, hate the fans’ grouping, but it’s more like it’s just a sizeable chunk of the fans. Also makes the ultra-rare ‘movie better than book’ category. Dunno if there’s any Struggle Session fans here, but they had a pretty good episode about reclaiming Fight Club for the left:

Heh, bing is actually a huge thing in right wing online communities because they think google is an evil left wing company that is super biased towards the left wing. You go into any right wing community online and the majority of them use bing from my experience.

Tuesday bump inbound today just from skimming the early returns. One thing I did find out is that many states health departments (like mine, Oklahoma) do zero testing on the weekend. That is my best guess on why we have this predictable Sunday/Monday dip followed by huge Tuesday-Thursday spike pattern every week.

Wow. ANO and the Social Democratic Party’s (center/center left party) 30 day state of emergency extension has not received the votes needed to pass.
The Pirate Party, a left-wing party, is against any extension unless certain conditions wrt transparency are met. Civic Democratic Party (a center-right party) proposed a 7 day extension unless silimar conditions. Christian Democratic Union (a center-right party with a religious bent) is okay with 10 days. The Communist Party proposed 17 days.
The other minority parties in the CoD such as TOP (Czech’s libertarian party), Freedom and Direct Democracy (extremist far-right xenophobes) and STAN (a centrist focused more on local politics) have stated their opposition to the minority coalition but have not provided any alternates.
No idea why Communists chose 17 (why not 16, 15, or another number near it?) days but that’ll probably be the one that gets picked since it’s the longest duration that can win.

Shout out to my dad. Was among the most conspiracy loving crazy Trumpers you’ve ever seen until something that actually affected him came along.
He initially believed this China did it on purpose conspiracy theory but when I explained rationally how that doesn’t make any sense at all and it hurts China as much as it hurts us and how our economies are intertwined, and Chinas economy collapsing is the biggest possible threat to those in charge, he saw reason and dropped it.
