Itās Trumpian arblegarble meant to juice up the stock markets. The economy wonāt go back to normal until people start behaving normally which wonāt happen until we have an effective treatment/vaccine.

Update on my attempt to get NJ Unemployment.
Just filed for the weekly benefit for the third week Iāve been eligible. Same result of āyour claim is not payable at this time. If you do not know why your claim is unpayable, call the nearest reemployment centerā. Iāve made well over 150 calls since last week, and sent one email. Iāve talked to no one and have not received a reply to the email. Iām just very grateful that I am not relying on this money for food or housing right now, but jesus christ is this frustrating.

at the very least just let them go bankrupt. Every airline besides I think Southwest has gone bankrupt before and operated in bankruptcy. Fuck em.

Meh, this seems overly sensational. There are plenty of reasons he could have had to leave that are legitimate.
Forget herd immunity. If something close to 15% of New Yorkers already have it then the infection fatality rate is way below 1%. Like around 0.1%. You can just have old people and diabetics stay home and let everyone else go about their business.

It was not as uncomfortable as I imagined it would be. Barely any breathing restriction, which of course means it isnāt filtering anything. It might make the outbreath more diffuse, but I feel like that might be bad thing if itās turning larger droplets into smaller ones. Itās pretty easy to adjust, so I could have it on my chin unless/until I see a person and then I cover up until Iām past them (at most I see two or three people while running, and often see zero). The biggest downside is that even on a very short, easy test run it got pretty damp pretty quickly. And with my allergies my nose tends to run in the AM - not that bad this morning but if it was really going it wouldāve been nasty. So this thing definitely needs to be washed between every use, which is a PITA. I made my kids some masks out of old tech shirts I have, I might try to fashion a few of those for myself so I can have a rotation.
