Don’t think he’s up for re-election until 2022. And he’s done a pretty great job with the Rona.
He was kissing trumps ass a lil because he knew thats the only way to get federal assistance. He threw some serious shade at him when he did the nation state thing though and probably gonna say when this is over he said nice things about trump because he’s a narcissistic monster and he had to in order to help save CA lives.
Yeah as we saw with the forest fires situation Newsom is totally willing to kiss the ring. Some percentage of it is a desire to serve California, and some percentage of it is personal ambition.
Can any medical workers itt post some ideas for things we could do to show our appreciation? Ive seen comments about non hospital food being a good idea but am not sure about what and how food would be donated.
I can start a separate thread if this is a derail but looking for any ideas that arent donating $.
My wife’s work, a large paper cup and food packaging manufacturer, has their first confirmed case. And my god HIPAA needs shredded in this instance. Her dad is married to someone in the local health department, and my wife works in HR. So they contacted my wife to let the company know. But they won’t tell them the name of the person. Who knows if the local health department was even smart enough to ask them if they would wave HIPAA or if they said no. They gave my wife a list of the people they need phone numbers to contact, presumably the person’s name was one of the people on the list, and the other’s the people they said they had been in contact with. They were already shut down Friday through Monday, so I guess they will figure it out when the person doesn’t show up for work Tuesday. Hopefully this person remembered all the people they had been in contact with.
But seriously, if someone get’s covid and wants to be an asshole they can just keep it to themselves? And not necessarily share all their contacts. And not face consequences if they go out in public while infected?
“Dear caregiver, you have been identified as someone who had unprotected exposure to covid-19. Your exposure occurred during a high risk procedure of a patient who has since been identified as covid positive.”
Was this from over a month ago? I’m not being judgmental saying this, but I kind of assume medical professionals are using a high level of PPE for any procedures right now - assuming it’s available - and especially so for high risk procedures.
High risk is everything from giving oxygen to intubation to bronchoscopy. So no, we don’t have the supplies to treat every patient as positive if we are doing something “high risk”. My exposure was Thursday on a patient who tested negative Thursday.
Damn, that sucks and it is truly sad and outrageous that we are still not able to supply medical professionals with appropriate PPE considering the current circumstances.
