Coronavirus (COVID-19)

I got into that stuff pretty deep last night but decided not to post anything because it’s unclear to me if it’s fakenews or not. I mean it seems obvious that CV-19 subjects would of course be taking NSAIDS, so it seems like kind of dumb conspiracy theory type stuff. But at the same time, there are links to research that I’m not smart enough to evaluate but seem to be from mostly legit sources.

Would love if @MrWookie or some of our other scientists would look at the info and post their opinion.

Reports from the front on the remote learning is that it is more like remote “learning”, but it’ll be fine. There will be glitches. But then there are plenty of glitches in in-person school as well.

Very worth reading.

Need more info. about this Calgary swingers club - average age?

also might lower the fever which could make the initial immune response less effective.

Yes, on Samsung galaxy devices with a heart rate monitor you can find it under “measure stress”. I just tested it against a $15 pulsox I got off Amazon and it matched at 98%.

So I guess acetominophen would be the way to go to reduce fever then (not an nsaid).

Usually the window still won’t scroll so I quit trying that.

For NYT all you need is something like Cookie AutoDelete.

+1. Also, there is a board?

Ugh not liking this NSAIDs news. I normally cannot take NSAIDs, but have been on 1000mg/day of Naproxen for the last month prescribed post surgery to prevent removed bone from regrowing. I finish the script on Thursday. Maybe I should call the surgeon and ask if it’s ok to stop early but that’s probably an overreaction.

Not gonna clutter this thread. If you are seriously asking I’m happy to answer any questions in a different thread.

Yeah Samsung health, I dont know how accurate the sensor is but if standalone ones are only $15 then it’s probably comparable

NH announcing they will provide unemployment payments to parents who need to stay home due to school closures. Not clear to me how they plan to do this yet. Setting up mobile testing sites which are supposed to be ready this week.

I don’t really know jack shit about NSAIDs and how they might interact with this. It seems to just be an estimate based on a correlation, and it’s pretty ordinary for any 20-something who’s got this bad to reach for Advil rather than this having been OK, and then they took some and then it got bad. That said, it’s not implausible that an anti-inflammatory could monkey things up, and we just don’t know much about how this works. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to avoid taking medication of unknown impact when the upside is only modest pain relief.
