I drove by my local Costco at 10AM on my way to work and traffic was backed up in both directions nearby because of people trying to jam their cars into the parking lot.
Went to a Target and Ralph’s on the way home to get some stuff I’d missed but both were out of some stuff I wanted, in particular kale and bread flour. I typically eat an enormous amount of fresh greens and have to get more every day or two. That’s going to have to change.
My walmart is out of tp, rice, about 1/4 left of beans, caffeine pills (smart!) and vitamin C.
Why would Trump think it would backfire? On his first week in office he had his press secretary go out and lie about crowd sizes for which there was widespread contradictory photographic evidence. He obstructed justice countless times. He’s openly corrupt, enriching himself through the office in an unprecedented fashion, and he has suffered no consequences of any consequence. How would this backfire and what would be the consequences for him?

Yeah my Costco ritual of going every Monday morning and walking in right as they open paid off these last few weeks that’s for sure. Someone I’m facebook friends with posted on March 2nd “ Costco’s out of toilet paper,didn’t know diarrhea was a symptom of Hypochondria” and it got 75 likes and 30 comments from all his Mormon friends and family laughing at people. If I was a bigger asshole I’d start replying to everyone right now.
How would it backfire? The virus spreads for weeks unchecked, a hundred million get it and millions die. Trump gets blamed because he is responsible for the inadequate testing. How is this different from lying about his inauguration crowd size? It’s in the same ballpark but I think the virus stuff is slightly more consequential.
I thought after infection and recovery this thread would develop immunity, but apparently it is still susceptible.

Trump has done countless numbers of things that have endangered lives or our national security and that he should be blamed for, but somehow escapes consequences. Why would he start now? When has he ever exhibited any behavior that would lead you to conclude that he cares about anyone else? You think he has any understanding of how viruses spread or what exponential growth means to do a calculation that there could be some disaster scenario where millions get infected and they could pin it on him?
