“Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses, meaning they are one of the easiest types of viruses to kill with the appropriate disinfectant product.”
“You have 15 people, and the 15 in a couple of days will be zero.” It’s not exactly a mystery, Scooby-Doo, case closed, stfu.
You are making a real run against trump for dumbest human alive with respect to this crisis.
5k math SAT?
Holy shit. Just saw someone post a meme on Facebook that says the government created COVID-19 to control the public. “See how easy that was?”
I think it was actually mad Bernie Bros so they could get their SOCIALISM in place.
I was on the fence about playing on Saturday. After my session (a good one), I felt like I made the right decision. I was confident I had succeeded in not touching my face, I disinfected the rail of the table and my chair before I sat down. I used hand sanitizer like a beast.
Yesterday I found out that the guy sitting next to me had potentially been exposed via the trainers at his gym who are being tested right now. Every time I cough, I worry. I’ve got nine more days until I’m in the clear.
Don’t play.
(And my decision was based on a likelihood of maybe a couple hundred people in the area having it at that point, in a metropolitan area of 6 million. After the Ohio statement about 117K people there likely having it, you just have to assume that’s the case everywhere, at BEST - I mean, they have five cases statewide.)
So assume 1% of the people have it. That’s one person every 10 tables. The dealer string is probably 3 tables, so you’ve got a 30% chance of being on a string with someone who’s infected on one of the other tables. Which table on the string will you be? If you’re first, I hope they’re sanitizing the break room and washing their hands before coming off break. You know poker dealers, what do you think?
And of course players cycle on and off tables, so 10 tables for a 10 hour session probably means more like 300 people than 100 people. So now you have to fade more. Plus everyone who touched the chips in the last 1-3 days, depending on the materials they’re made of… Everyone who touched the table, the chairs.
Oh, and here’s the most fun: the cocktail waitress. She’s touching chips from players all over the room, then making your drink. Skip the straw and the lemon? Cool. But she still touched the outside of the cup and handed it to you, now you’ve probably swapped germs with 90% of the room.
Poker rooms are one of the worst places to be right now.
This dude is a Trumpkin. And he recently beat fucking cancer, which pisses me off even more that he believes this shit.
From a friend’s FB. Says the Costco line going back to halfway point of store. (Chino Hills, on the border of Riverside/OC.)
The courts are going to be shut down except for emergency family court type hearings and criminal arraignments by the middle of next week.
What? It makes perfect sense. Numbers of infected by Corona virus = bad, so how do you keep those numbers down? Don’t test. That is exactly what is happening.
I’ve seen the same type of reports all over twitter and facebook. Really glad I stocked up a couple weeks ago with enough food to last a couple months and don’t have to deal with that.
Trudeau’s wife is positive for corona
It’s bad enough I have to work but I’d be terrified to go to a casino. Touch those nasty ass cards, hell no.
wow. Could be spreading bigly though the Canadian government and cabinet members. Justin had a news conference just yesterday standing next to people making important decisions about this. Could be really really bad if he had it.
That strategy has an exceptionally short window where it would reflect favorably on the administration. It’s very obvious that it would rapidly backfire. That’s why it makes no sense.
Quick trip to my local Kroger, things are a little disturbing. No TP, bread and meat almost cleaned out. I got some of the last non-gluten-free pasta. Hopefully people get this out of their system quickly and the supply goes back to normal. I can’t pass judgement; I’ve accumulated a little extra TP and some rice and beans and canned goods over the past two weeks.
Anyway, much respect to DeWine and the Ohio Dept. of Health for doing an end run around the lack of testing and just telling people the straight dope that this coronavirus is already here.

I don’t know, I’m not sure it’s just hoarding at this point. I think we may be starting to see supply chains breaking down.
I’ll panic when people start buying gluten-free pasta, ick. This just seems like the predictable effect of a sudden spike in demand that supply doesn’t move quickly enough to respond to.
To be blunt, I’m not sure our global supply chain is terribly dependent on the 70+ year olds. I do think it’s prudent to have a 2-week supply of food on hand.
