Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Classifying the discussions? These people understand that eventually they won’t be in power? Hopefully we get an AG that goes after them.

i mean c’mon people “hanna brooks olsen” check mark @mshannabrooks with bangs and freckles? i’m going to puke realizing this is actually a real person. i assume there are thousands of corny emo girls on twitter with names like Olivia Charlotte Miller, Sophia Avery Thomas, Victoria Grace Johnson who made the exact same tweet trying to go viral.

the real winners of this pandemic are the nation’s neighbors of people who own dogs, who are experiencing unprecedented levels of not hearing barking for 5 minutes straight when an amazon truck stops within 1000 feet of their home.

My boss just said that he just got back from the store and there was TP everywhere! This isn’t a big deal and the media is making something out of nothing. WAAF.

No need to worry, we already have a method for triaging patients in America: wealth and insurance status

I wish we had a society that would actually think this was a good idea.

All 250+ person events now prohibited, Inslee is talking now.

University of Virginia is moving all classes online through at least April 5th.

The school is strongly encouraging students to go home/not to return to school if they are on spring break trips, but are not requiring it. Meal services still active, but modified (I’m guessing to avoid hundreds of students gathering in a dining hall). The school will also help students on financial aid to get home.

I work for the city of Baltimore and we have zero coronavirus plans in place. This morning I overheard that our agency head received an email a week ago to start putting together plans but didn’t do anything about it until today. I work in a legal office and even we aren’t equipped to telework, let alone all of the other city employees. Everyone is scrambling today, and the extent of the preparation so far is having everyone update their emergency contacts.

Just a complete shit show.

Well it’s been announced that he is giving a speech at 5:30pm today; we’ll see how accurate Dave’s friend’s friend’s dad’s connection is. In other words, if he knows somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody.

If the purpose is to keep your mom safe from you, this is bad. Most N95 masks have a valve that opens when you exhale so that your breath isn’t filtered at all. They do this so that your breath doesn’t create positive pressure that can push the mask away from your face.

A surgical mask would be better, or a special N95 mask designed for medical purposes, but you would need to read the instructions to make sure there is no valve.

If keeping CV infection numbers classified doesn’t get the non-political employees at the CDC and other places screaming, nothing will.

I mean, say your a epidimiologist working at CDC or some other agency and the information you know about the infection rate is being quashed by the white house? I’d be screaming it from the top of buildings and on every news and radio station getting the information out.

I guess it’ll be a true test on if the worker bees at the agencies have any inclination to do the righ thing.

A big sharpie line showing infection cases going from 15 to zero
