Yeah, I have something similar right now. Cough drops have worked to tame it down, but still occassionally coughing (feels like it’s got a bit worse again today).
Constant cold/rainy waeather doessn’t help either :(

Or Young Truant if he becomes a rapper
I had that last spring. Took me about 6 weeks to get over it.
I dont think I’m going out too far on a limb to suggest that the death rate everywhere the healthcare system gets overwhelmed will be higher than places where it doesn’t. But we can agree to disagree.
Anybody with a cough that lasts more than 2 weeks should probably be getting blood tests done. Mine turned out to be pertussis (aka whooping cough). It gets better slowly but I’m still coughing more than a year later. #NotAllCoughers
Obama said nothing about sanitizer or TP.
#OBAMA2020
Apparently they’ve identified 2 strains of it now and so possibly Hubei got the deadlier strain.
Plus the US doesn’t test anyone so there is no real number for us infections.

You only eat potatoes though
Just a note for some of you who have an unexplained cough with no other symptoms. I had the same thing some time ago. Out of nowhere I would start coughing my brains out. It was a dry cough and I had no idea what was causing it. I thought…“WTF do I have lung cancer? After all I am a former smoker”.
A few weeks before the coughing I had been prescribed the blood pressure pill “Lisinopril”. It was cheap and super effective controlling my BP. I decided to look up the side effects and a cough was among the most prominent. My doc switched meds and the cough went away. So…I guess my point is to check your prescription side effects if you have an unexplained cough, especially if the prescriptions are new.
Reading through comments and anecdotal health provider stories, it does seem like it is possible this was moving around in the US long before anyone thought.
Since literally nobody was looking for it, let alone testing for it, who knows how long it might have been around. Although in theory this could be a very good sign. If it has been here for a while without our knowledge it might not end up being as dangerous as might be thought.
You can put me down for an extremely statistically significant data point of getting quite sick at Borgata in late January. Figured it was most likely a typical casino flu but definitely more potent than any I’ve had before. It was right around when virus news was just picking up steam in the media so I’d be lying if I said the thought never crossed my mind.
Basically what me and and my mom had. What initially put her in the hospital. They diagnosed her with pneumonia and she tested negative for the flu the first time, then released her that night. She was barely able to breathe. Then it seems like she picked up the flu while at the hospital and we had to go back.
I had the same thing. Had a serious cold for about a month with a low level fever off and on and a headache. Basically all the symptoms.
Still think its likely it was something else but who knows.
How the hell did you get whooping cough? Is this the early 20th century?
The radio DJ who described exactly what me and a bunch of my coworkers had said his Dr. told him he had the croup - which is common in kids but adults can get it.
And now I have a dry cough out of nowhere and I feel warm. I was blasting the AC on the way to work this morning even though it was 61 out.
I just heard on the local news that a large (8500+ person) convention scheduled for next month at the convention center has been cancelled. Everyone is getting a refund and they’re going to hold it virtually. I don’t know how stuff like this isn’t going to nuke the economy in the coming months if it continues.
My nurse friend just texted telling me her company convention in Austin scheduled for the end of this month was cancelled too.
Yes, this is a constant concern for me. Wife works in a hospital, so not great for me.
