Cooking Good Food - Ramens of the day

I cheat on the rice/tahdig. I bought a Persian rice cooker. It pretty much cooks itself once you get the ingredients in there.

I still can’t make tahdig quite like the Persian restaurants. Mine is about a 1/4" thick. The stuff I get at restaurants is easily double+ that.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen metts anywhere but at Riverfront Stadium. I don’t remember them being at Great American when I was there last about 8 years ago.

Easter dinner

Someone didn’t want any lamb meat or any jello. Just give me asparagus and bones to gnaw on.

I think you can get them in the store, or you could when I was growing up.

But like anything, the prepackaged oscar meyer stuff is never as good as the ones they pulled out of the boiling water at the stadium. Damn I miss Riverfront. Huge part of my childhood, that place.

Jesus dude you have serious game.

Hollandaise twice in one day. Respect!

Second one is a white miso bearnaise, which is a sibling of hollandaise, but a few differences. Also, credit where due, MrsWookie was responsible for the execution on the hollandaise and bearnaise, which really aren’t that hard to do in a blender.

Geez you guys have mad skills and i’m just cooking different proteins in tomato sauce

I eat because I’m unhappy! And I’m unhappy because I eat!

Black currant + sea buckthorn with extra sugar on top.

That’s very cool. From a cultural appropriation view point this is the equivalent of Mitt Romney teaching Xi Jinping how to cook collard greens.

I think caraway is an important spice in this dish, although I never use it for anything. I was kinda surprised to see it in every single recipe.

And use more oil and garlic. It doesn’t matter how much you used, it’s probably not enough.

I love hot cross buns and my local supermarket sells them all year round :) - toasted with thick cut orange marmalade and a fresh mug of tea - yum.

Threw together some fried rice following Dave Chang’s recipe. Leftover white rice, garlic, ginger, scallion, peas and carrots.

That’s a huge chicken!

Looks good.

Ordered it online from my local butcher. $6 a pound. Was not expecting to pay $54 for a 9 pound fucking chicken.

What are the skewers for?

I didn’t have any butchers twine. Did the next best thing to keep the cavity closed. Filled it with garlic and had to keep it in and the legs up. It didn’t work lol.

Just use duct tape.

I’ll post this on behalf of @Bro. She made this and sent me a pic. Sadly we are a few hundred miles apart.
