Finished up Season 2 of Cobra Kai. Not the ending I was expecting.

I wonder if they were guaranteed another season before writing that finale, if not it’s kind of a huge dick move to leave a non-guaranteed show on like, 5 concurrent cliffhangers.

That’s an… odd angle to take. I’ll have to watch it again. My hunch was that Johnny would take over Miaygi-Do after Daniel’s wife told him no more karate and they would work together to take down Cobra Kai with Hawk and Spikey Bangles as the villains

NOW SPEAKING OF ELIZABETH SHUE. She killed it in The Boys S1. So I finished Cobra Kai season 2 last night and let me just say I am hyped out of my mind for the possibility she comes back in s3. The season finale was terrific, and rumors of them taking s3 to Okinawa suggest a story that will continue to add surprising value to the original movies.
I mean, shes pretty much guaranteed back in S3 since shes no longer around for the boys right? They dont leave Johnny where he was at the end of that episode without her back in S3, and since they have gotten pretty much every original actor back (including the Cobra Kai goon squad) it would be really weird to recast her

For sure. No way they tease that and don’t follow through. It’d be different if she was like Kelly McGillis from Top Gun. Kelly is retired and could give a fuck about the sequel LOL. But Elizabeth Shue still has an active and AMAZING acting career. I think she’s putting out better stuff now than ever.
I remember scrolling by some vague disappointment with Cobra Kai S2. Not so with me. Jonny and Cobra Kai evolving as a philosophy and person is surprisingly compelling. All of the characters, really. I’m digging all of their arcs, their conflicts with each other.
You weren’t kidding about the choreography in that final fight scene at the high school. Holy shit! The actors must have trained all season.
As my wife and I have been watching the Boys (we’re almost caught up), I have not turned down an opportunity to make cheesy jokes about how Daniel Larusso wouldn’t like Homelander.
Also, Conan interviewed Ralph Macchio, who said that they have filmed some of Cobra Kai S3 in Okinawa.

Anyone else find Miyagi Do people just insufferable? Is that an intentional choice I wonder? Strikes me as no.

I’m still disappointed my wife couldn’t get off of work that day. Would’ve been the GOAT family photo. The fake wife in the shot does actually kind of look like an alternate universe version of my sister-in-law, though.
