That game just gave me my biggest win so far, and in an unbelievably thrilling way.
For the Barstool risk free $5k i bet over 54.5 to pay $12,750. I then bet $3k on the under to pay $4750. So Id either net $1750 plus the credits I’d need to churn through, or I’d net $4750 free and clear. Over was looking very dead for a while…until it wasn’t. Then needed to fade the tie game in OT after the pick and fumble. Just insane exciting.
I did consider throwing the $5k on the game to go to OT at +1300 to win $65k, but couldn’t pull the trigger. Even texted my friend group that is knowledgeable discussing if that was worth wasting guaranteed money on. Can’t be too upset with the result though!

So Barstool Sportsbook promo-banned me. Not upset about that as it happens. What irritates me is they never notified me of it. So I had to realize I didn’t get any credit on a promo or two, reach out to CS, and then have them tell me I’m promo-banned. Very, very scummy.
That’s almost certainly what’s happened to me too, then. I haven’t gotten anything for the last three promos I’ve entered. At least you got customer service to respond to you! They just ignore me.
I filed a complaint with the Illinois Gaming Board. I doubt anything will come of it but man is that a scummy practice, not that I would expect anything different from a Dave Portnoy company.

Make sure you read through the terms really well beforehand. A lot of site will have obnoxious playthrough requirements on the credits. Like 25x on table games or 5x on slots.
Is 1 hand of blackjack where you can’t split or double down actually better EV than Roulette or betting the Don’t Pass on Craps?

Yeah lots of the edge from blackjack comes from the equity we get from doubles & splits. We are less than 45% to “win” in a single hand.
25x playthrough for blackjack is nothing. at 0.4% house edge (typical edge for 6 deck dealer stands on soft 17) we are massively +ev there. Bet MGM basically has a 200x playthrough for blackjack and that’s where it starts getting dicey.
One strategy I had heard is to bet both sides of live dealer baccarat on two separate books. This works in Michigan where Live Dealer games are the same across all sites. It’s weird, but it’s a guaranteed $1K. How it was explained by someone in a discord group:
So if you are churning the BS $1000 Risk Free side…you want to lose the $1000 on Barstool and ideally win most of it back on the DK side. Live Baccarrat is your game. Just start with something like DK - $10 Player / BS - $10 Dealer. IF Dk wins, good. Do $10 and $10 again. If BS side wins, double it up. $20 on each side…so on and so forth.
Basically, you’ll “win” $1k on the DK side and “lose” $1k on the BS side. You’ll pay a 5% dealer vig everytime the BS wins…but it’s small. So you’ll nearly breakeven…then you’ll get the $1k back on BS to playthrough again…same strategy…except this time it doesn’t really matter which side wins and yo’ll be up close to $1k.
