You’re not misremembering. It was trying to mock/needle you/me/us for losing money “in crypto”, because that’s a cool thing to do as long as there are No Swear Words.

@WichitaDM I can see how this got misconstrued. “I think you know this already” was intended to be a snarky reference to the fact that the “why aren’t you shorting if you think it’s a bubble?” argument has been beaten to death 5,000 times in the crypto thread and the “shorting is dangerous” response is a stock reply. I’ve mentioned Michael Burry almost getting wrecked in the housing bubble multiple times. The point was supposed to be that everyone ITT ought to know this by now.

If I’d known you personally had lost a lot of money shorting bitcoin I wouldn’t have said this and I fell shitty that it was way more harmful than intended.

Few things:

1. You’re lying.

2. I hope this is only directed at @WichitaDM because the good grace of me entertaining you in conversation is a speck in the rearview mirror.

3. He/we didn’t lose money shorting bitcorn, it was APEcoin, and there’s a huge difference between shorting a volatile news-driven short/medium-time-frame event, and shorting a non-volatile long-time-frame macro trend (I broke even but w/e same concept, it was supposed to be a money bag for us). This could’ve all been discussed in that thread if any of you were actually serious about or capable of discussing things instead of mocking and bullying, but you’re not, hence #2.

I think there’s too much history for reconciliation to be possible in full public view but I did have a positive PM recently with someone that I’d thought couldn’t have happened, so on a one-to-one basis some things may be possible.

Clovis, aside from the post to Trolly (an exception which should be obvious) I don’t agree with your characterization at all; in fact in the case of the post to Econophile, I’d say it’s the opposite. Which posts do you think were smashing battery acid on the ground?

On the one hand, you can’t really resolve interpersonal conflicts without talking about them.

On the other hand, I kinda doubt you can resolve interpersonal conflicts with internet strangers by talking about them (at least usually).
