If one side said 2+2=4 the other would instantly argue it wasnât.
This is all just a game. None of this is a real good faith debate, from either side.
The whole point is the fight! Why not just admit this, make a sub forum for it and go to town? That way you can all have your fun and the rest of us can ignore it.

This is a thoughtful post which I agree with on many points. My view is that moderation/moderators cannot and should not be the âsolutionâ to whatever schisms exist in this forum community.
Having said that, concluding that âno moderationâ is the solution (or an improvement) does not logically follow and I reject that viewpoint.
I will comment on your final point, especially since you have made that point in the past as well. The view that each poster should be able to talk with whomever and however they want on a public forum is an untenable position that every public forum has either explicitly or implicitly rejected. Of course there are ways two or more members can have a private conversation using the forum software. That is the tenable solution, not a âlet me be and Iâll let you beâ approach.
