About Andor, and lesser Star Wars things

None as far as I know. The only thing close is a mention of a kybar crystal.

The rebellion needed Luke as much as he needed them. It was a good symbiotic relationship. Iā€™m not sure how much content we get from Disney but thereā€™s probably some cool rebellion stories we could get in between a new hope and ROTJ.

As much as I want them to i doubt Disney ever reboots the ST and does it right this time. So we are stuck with the shitty post ROTJ timeline they put us in.

Andorā€™s turning upside down how I view the Star Wars Universe. I kinda wish they would create a series of shows that has nothing to do with magic and wizardry, and then the normal SW stuff.

Iā€™m waiting for the comedy series / sketch based on the Imperial News Network

Waited until all episodes were out to binge, but Andor is elite. Luthenā€™s monologue at the end of E10 might be the best thing ever done in this IP. I think my favorite small thing is all the technology / screens being painstakingly in line with the original trilogy era. Was a very cool touch.

or, and stay with me here, before.

As in, LONG before. Like, 3000 years or so. All theyā€™d have to do is reboot/remake one of the best Star Wars stories in existence. The writing is already out there! The setting is amazing! The characters are compelling!

Yes, Iā€™m talking about Knights of the Old Republic.

Iā€™m not sure the big twist would be as impactful since half the world already knows about it, so it might need a slight perspective change/rewrite, but otherwise, gimme some Revan now please!

Itā€™s not even a prequel, since itā€™s so long before that anything that happens is lost to the sands of time by the time we get to the Clone Wars era

The whole ep is wild. Serkis monologue was one of the best monologues Iā€™ve heard in a while and ended up not even being the best one of the ep. Those two scenes completely overshadow the Mon Mothma part of the ep, which was also great.

Got around to watching Tales of the Jedi, a handful of animated short episodes, three on Count Dooku, three on Ahsoka. Not ground-breaking stuff, but gives you some interesting back story.

Yaddle shows up and plays a significant part in one episode, if youā€™re interested in that character.

I was pretty confident tbe widgets they were making were Death Star parts. Only thing that made sense. Though you think automation would crank them out much better than 7 dudes at a time

Yeah, bolded especially didnā€™t make sense given the repetitive nature of their tasks. But sometimes youā€™ve just got accept it and try not to think about it too much.

Am I the only person who didnā€™t like it? As much as Andor was refreshing in that they got away from laser swords and space magic and fucking Tattoine, I didnā€™t really appreciate the reminder that Star Wars canā€™t ever get away from Death Stars. Weā€™ve had them in 4 movies now, plus the shell of one in another. Andor could have been working on Star Destroyer parts, or the Super Star Destroyer, or TIE fighter parts, or whatever.

They did try to explain this with a line about how prisoners were cheaper than droids.

That also requires a suspension of disbelief given what we know about the universe. They wouldnā€™t even need droids per se. Just like basic assembly line technology would be fine.

The death star part is such a minor thing that I donā€™t see how it could have affected someoneā€™s enjoyment if they otherwise liked the series. We didnā€™t know anything about it until the series was basically over and the credits gave us an Easter Egg. If you otherwise thought it was meh, then I could accept that.

Agree with above.

I also didnā€™t think it was as awesome as everyone else did. I wouldnā€™t go as far as Wookie and say I didnā€™t like it. I just thought it was pretty good. Didnā€™t blow me away like it seemed to for many here.

Also have a question:

Are we supposed to assume that Kino is ded

From an interview with showrunner Tony Gilroy:

ā€œI canā€™t swimā€ is such a heroically tragic moment since Kino (Andy Serkis) led his fellow prisoners to freedom knowing full well that he wasnā€™t going to make it out. Do you presume Kino was executed shortly thereafter?

I donā€™t know. Heā€™s not dead. Is he dead? I donā€™t see him dying [in episode ten].

I was referring only to the post-credits scene. Overall both MrsWookie and I loved Andor. The only other thing I could say was a disappointment was that ep. 10 was sooooo good that it was a little sad that ep. 12 couldnā€™t top it.
