People sometimes say “but if you lose your phone, you’ve lost everything”. And I guess that’s true, but the phone would be the bigger loss, and would really suck, so also losing my license plus a few other cards wouldn’t really make it that much worse.
I can probably use a phone number for grocery store cards. Casino rewards which I rarely use anymore. Home Depot card. I should look into some of the others.
When are we gonna just be able to pay everything with a QR scan with the banking app or CC app on our phone? Friggen Cambodia is way ahead of us. I never have to carry cash or card here, it’s great.
You can do a lot with Apple pay, here. Obviously not 100%, tho.

Yeah, much of Japan now uses Pay-Pay, a QR scanning app where it used to be very much a cash-transacted society (I’m still stuck in ways and use CCs though).
Google says 85 percent of retailers accept it. I’d have guessed maybe 2/3.
It’s been years since I used cash in Canada for anything except poker.
Always carry a little cash in case you have no money in the bank and your credit cards are all maxed out and you need gas or you are going to be stuck somewhere.
You don’t have to carry it but you people need to get library cards.

I would memorize it if I could but I can’t so I put in in my password manager.
My number is 10 digits, but there’s a lot of repetition in it. It almost couldn’t be easier to remember.

I mean I could memorize it but I’m afraid I’d forget under pressure. The other day I was like, what it is the name of that actor. He was in that one movie. Bruce Willis. Die Hard.
When I’m reserving a book at home on the computer I really need to remember the number. For a while now I always remember it in the library as well, but if I didn’t I just need to have an ID and they can look it up.
