I’ve gotta say, Costco workers have to be right at the top of all retail employees. Infinitely long lines but they moved like a Chick Fil A drive thru.
Does Costco let you scan and pay by yourself on their app?

Not that I know of. But today I saw for the first time a Costco employee scanning someone’s cart in the middle of the store, so that when they got to the cashier they’d just scan their membership card and pay.
Obviously this doesn’t work if that shopper then puts additional items in the cart after being scanned. So I’m clearly missing a big piece of this puzzle.
My run is over. At age 40, I finally got summoned to my first jury duty in 2 weeks.

I remember when I had to use a debit card at Costco because they only took Amex CCs or some other card I didn’t have.
You’re still in the game. You won’t necessarily end up on a jury. More likely you sit around for a while until they tell you to go home.
They want to push their own cc? Though if memory serves, they’ve always accepted VISA.
The secret to Costco is to arrive 15 minutes before the posted opening time. Be in the first wave and you’ll be out in 20 minutes. This works on weekends, holidays, etc. Even half an hour later and you can be in a world of shit.
