just finding out now my hometown (that’s 10 mins from
here) is 100%, guess i’m gonna go there since here is only 99.7%.
yall think it would be better to watch it where like 500-1000 people are watching or by ourselves somewhere?

Yeah definitely go get deeper into the 100% as not only is way cooler but lasts longer the closer you to the middle of path. Alone vs crowd probably more personal opinion.
Crowd will have some excitement and phones out like a concert. I did crowd last time and don’t regret but I could see some preferring the nature approach
DON’T!
I forgot to get glasses, so I just made a couple pinhole boxes. They work pretty well - can see a sliver of the moon.
My neighbor fucked up. Looked directly at the sun and turned to stone.
Mazatlan totality soon, then all the cool shots will start coming in. Should be totality across different places in Mexico and the US for an hour and a half.
Drove 45 min north to a wildlife refuge. Parking at capacity 3 hours in advance. We parked on the road outside with 100 other cars, until the cops came in and said they were about to start towing. Chaos ensues.
Is this possible? I feel like if pointing your phone at the sun could damage it we’d have heard a lot about that.
Watched the Mazatlan stream, pretty wild
Yeah the moment where the sun starts to emerge is pretty awesome.
Was really cool we got like 4 minutes. Maybe i needed a better filter but didnt really show up on videos or pictures.
Was on the bubble of the stars anniversary SM so couldn’t fully enjoy it.
Dallas can’t see anything, I think only Indy area and Northern NE are going to get anything. Sucks.
Not going to lie. It looks very cool
Hiked to the top of a ski resort for the 2017 eclipse (Grand Targhee, WY) and saw about 2 minutes of totality.
It’s deffnitely surreal. It’s hard to describe how the light gets weird during an eclipse, even a partial. It’s nothing like twilight or night time. The one thing that really struck me last time was how fast the temperature dropped on top of that mountain as the sun went away. It really was noticeable!
Here’s a shot my husband took of that moment you are all talking about…
Yes that part is wild
This time I’m nowhere close to totality but the sky does have a little that odd look. Kinda feels like you are a little closer to space than usual or something
And were done in Dallas
Absolutely wicked. Perfect weather came through at the end. Xkcd graph 100 percent correct.
Dallas looked great on TV from the Cotton Bowl.
Ohio is mostly clear. We can see you everything so far. Totality is in about 20 minutes.
