I know the Iranians are pissed off and believe they have a right to retaliate, but what benefit would they get from an over-the-top (i.e. non-proportional) response that eventually would come back to bite them?
Agreed that a non-proportional response makes no sense. Can’t imagine anyone ever doing that.

Seems like the scores of Iranian drones definitely contributing to Russia exhausting Ukraine air defense so wonder if they hoping will serve as more of a deterrent in future? Like a quasi nuclear type deterrent from overwhelming drone swarms?
Although even that seems far fetched given US going to be shooting them down too so gotta imagine Iran response going to be more constrained than some the talk hearing now.

Ben Gurion Airport will close down in an hour. Drones suppose to reach around 4 am (5 hours from now). They were launched 4 hours ago give or take, the public was just being informed now.
Yeah I guess we don’t really know anything of seriousness until we see if missiles launched to coincide with arrivals

2nd and 3rd wave of drones were fired (launched? not sure whats the right verb) according to Iran. Israeli media reports that Israel has started to shot down drones in Syria and Jordan.
