You’re correct about their versions of Islam, but as with all things in international relations, it’s much more complicated than religion per se. There’s plenty of power politics and influence-seeking going on as well.

Haven’t heard anything about hezbollah. My guess is they won’t join unless there’s a ground invasion of Gaza. I think Nasrallah is more calculated.
Very odd that Israeli intelligence apparently had no idea this was coming. Ive already seen speculation online that they did know and let it happen to engineer a situation where they can invade Gaza. Thats a bit too conspiratorial for me and ill stick to Hanlons Law, but I understand the incredulity.

It appears that the largest active hostage incident within Israel, which was about 50 hostages in Kibbutz Be’eri, has ended. about 16 hours after it started.
There are unknown amount of civilians held hostage within Gaza. Many children. Estimations are in the 100s. This will directly effect how the fighting will continue.
