2023 Israel Conflict - Ground Forces Enter Gaza

PLO is a viable and much more moral political entity than Hamas. It is still in control in the West Bank and is the only viable channel for peace, if Israel ever decides it actively wants one.

Yes, Gazans have much to live for other than revenge. This simplistic view isn’t helpful. Same as the West Bankers have a lot to live for and Israelis have a lot to live for. The conflict is only talked about as an endless cycle of violence by those who can’t tell brown people apart. The story is much more complex and has many shades.

Your view is the one Hamas is trying to perpetuate. This isn’t the case. Palestinians are not all the same. Their parties are not all the same. Israeli Arabs are not all the same. And I can assure you the majority of them don’t think massacaring a 1000 teenagers in a rave in a natural consequence.

So are you saying that the likely result from a military campaign to dismantle Hamas is that they elect the PLO?

Yes. I also think it’s what the majority of Gazans want and I doubt many of them are happy with the actions that occured yesterday. It’s hamas distorted propaganda to claim otherwise. Palestinians aren’t evil or immoral people. The vast majority of them don’t support massacring kids hiding in dumpsters.

I hope my country also grow eventually and stop thinking that way and stop supporting lunatic massiacal fascists.

all this while having to consider the 130 hostages Hamas currently holds. Number isn’t confirmed but it seems to be agreed that it’s around that. It includes kids, teenagers, women and elderly people. naturally this makes the process a whole more delicate and I’m far from an expert in dealing with hostage situations.

yuv has more tact than I do

I’d be already at then go to gaza and join them or **** off.

I think the disconnect is amazing, honestly. You, an Israeli civilian, are calling for a military campaign that would likely see every single person in Gaza know at least one innocent friend or family member who dies as a result, and yet you expect them to emerge from that with a renewed sense of opposition to reprisals that might impact Israeli civilians. That’s just me being a virulant racist who can’t tell brown people apart though I guess.

You’ve guessed right. At least I’ve tried. My mom always told me i’m too nice.

I empathize with him. Like I’m sure I had solid opions on stuff I knew little about as a teenager. The only thing I can do is try to teach and learn. Granted I wouldn’t call massacaring a 1000 people in point blank an anecdote aimed to distort people views, but I was probably assholish in my own way.

Super weird how you guys think this type of posting is helping you. Also super weird how you think anyone with the misfortune of reading this can’t just scroll up and see that I pretty clearly never said anything close to this:

Anyway, for others and in the vein of education, this is a useful resource whenever you think something doesn’t quite add up between simultaneous calls for large scale Israeli military operations in Gaza and Palestinian war crime handwringing:

realistically what would happen if israel nuked gaza.

arab countries invade (and get nuked too)?

UN ‘strongly condemns’ the actions?

US… ???

lol wow

the first sentence describes the Balfour declaration as “crimes and controversies” and describe the immigration of Jews from the holocaust as “Illegal immigration”.

wow.

I didn’t have you’re a full blown Nazi in my bingo card for today.

The British disarmed the Palestinian people from 1936-1939 during the ‘Great Arab Revolt’ whilst turning a blind eye to illegal immigration by European Jews

Yes, @anon12235340 just linked you to an article that starts of with calling the fleeing of European Jews from the holocaust “Illegal”.

This is why every discussion about Israeli-Palestine should start with people explaining their basic point of view. If you consider Israel to be a colonist state by definition it shouldn’t exist and all this discussion is futile. It’s a shame you chose to lie to me and waste everyone’s time.

Sir.

Quite the goldmine here –

(32) 5 Israelis working for an Israeli Company “Urban Moving” were arrested on 9/11 after being seen “documenting” (their own words during an Israeli interview) and celebrating the attack on the WTC. Owner of the company, Dominik Suter, fled to Israel after the incident. His name appeared on the May 2002 FBI Suspect List, along with the 9/11 hijackers and other suspected extremists. Israel has yet to extradiate him (2001):

I tend to think a lot like Wichita here. Im quite ignorant on everything that happens in the middle east, and any contribution I made here would just confirm my ignorance. I have 0 idea what a solution is, but this all seems awful, and any solution that leads to the most even split is probably both best and also least likely to happen.

Who would you recommend we listen to? Say I wanted to hear reasonable perspectives from both sides. Who would be best to seek out to learn more?

Don’t look at it as both sides. Like for example that ridiculous first pargraph Jake linked uses Benny Morris as a reference. Now I’ve studied Benny Morris and worked with some of his colleagues. You will learn a ton by reading his books. He was one of the first and def the most “succesful” historian to break from classical Zionist writing. But facts (even partial ones) are very different from the interpertation you give them.

You can read Benny Morris and come up with a distorted propganada like Jake shaped his view upon. You can read it and think Benny Morris is a traitor to Israel like the Zionist establishment did or you can use it as a stepping ground to forming an opinion.

There’s no magic answer.

Gaza would elect the PLO

PART 2: PEDOPHILIA & SEXUAL BLACKMAIL

(1) Jewish Community Watch: “Israel becoming a safe haven for paedophiles worldwide” (2016):

(3) Jeffrey Epstein has also invested millions of dollars in Carbyne, an Israeli start-up company in which former Israeli prime minister and current election candidate Ehud Barak is the controlling shareholder (2019):

This is truly remarkable. Exactly the same text you see with every single white supremacy group.

“every criticism of Israel is labeled as antisemtic. All we said is Israel is a safe haven for illegal Jewish edophiles immigrants from 1945 and you should read all about it in this reddit thread I have saved”

You realize the site is just an inventory of mainstream media articles that catalogs controversies right? These two are from NYT and the Independant. So like yes, some of it will naturally be stupid but it also captures
a fairly comprehensive list of atrocities in case people wonder about all the “history” that is mentioned in friendly discussions like this.

lol.

“big if true - Israel is a pedophile haven”. You do realize it’s only big if true, right? I just linked the article in this list i sent people to educate themselves on Israel.
