Gaetz won, there is no more upside in being a jerkoff, he & co will bless the next speaker, and it’s probably going to be someone to the right of and more derpy than McCarthy.

Contrary to my post earlier in the day, it looks like McCarthy is not interested in running again. Per politico Scalise is gauging interest and is probably the favorite, though I havent checked the books.

Predictions for what happens next?
Gaetz is running for Gov in FL. This is all aimed at raising his profile for that run. Becoming Speaker wouldn’t help and would likely hurt his chances at that, so it’s hard to imagine him becoming Speaker.
