My favorite part of this will always be Schumer but there is so much going on it’s hard to pick.
Al Green is annoying.

If I was casting a vote, I’d make a huge scene every time. Stand up proudly and slowly yell something like, "IT IS MY UNDYING HONOR TO NOMINATE THE VIRILE HAKEEEEEEEMMMMM JEFFFFFFRIIIIIIEEEEESS!!!
Then I’d fall down the steps like the baker in those old Sesame Street shorts.
Scalise.
Voting using 18th century technology is chefs kiss USA.
McCarthy going to work through the break. Hardcore.

Voting tech used changes nothing about this and has no correlation to why Republicans suck.
This is fine when it’s a ceremonial foregone conclusion. As this drags on, forcing reps to slog out to the floor instead of making electronic votes comfortably from their own offices is theoretically an inducement to compromise.
lol ok. It’s not why republicans suck. It’s why the U.S. sucks
Agreed.
Actually shouting out the votes and laboriously putting pen to paper is great theater. A voting machine takes a couple rings out of this clownshow.
To recap, votes 4,5 and 6 were identical.
Jeffries 212

Kat Cammack, 34 years of age:
Cammack is anti-abortion and co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus.[38][39] She believes states should determine their abortion laws,[40] and abortion should be allowed only in extreme cases in the first trimester.[39] In 2022, she cosponsored a bill to ban abortions nationwide past 15 weeks.[41] During her campaign, she released an advertisement in which she said that, when her mother was pregnant with her, she was advised by doctors to have an abortion, but chose not to.[42]
Cammack was one of the 139 representatives to vote to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election on January 7, 2021.[46] On the House floor, she said the January 6, 2021, attacks “furthermore resolved” her objection to the certification process and that, as representatives of the people, Members of Congress must stand for a free and fair election for all Americans.[47] There was no evidence that the election was not free or fair to an extent that would change the outcome, despite numerous inquiries.[48][49]
Cammack has called the Equality Act, a bill that would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (including titles II, III, IV, VI, VII, and IX) to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, federally funded programs, credit, and jury service, a “farce” that will strip people of faith and private organizations of the right to decide for themselves how to live, work, and conduct business.[67] She voted against the act and numerous other protections for LBGTQ Americans during her time in Congress.[68] On July 19, 2022, Cammack and 46 other Republican representatives voted for the Respect for Marriage Act, which would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and codify the right to same-sex marriage in federal law.[69] Cammack wrote that she supported the bill because, under the Fourteenth Amendment, the law cannot treat one group of citizens differently from another.[70]
It’s a superficial reason for why the US sucks. Changing this wouldn’t fix anything. It’s like saying a poker room sucks because the dealers have ugly uniforms.
15 weeks with some narrow exceptions!
Goddamn lib plant if you ask me.
Did I just catch a shot of MTG talking to George Santos on the floor a minute ago?
