One problem for McCarthy is he doesn’t decide when the next vote happens. The House as a whole decides when the next vote happens in open session which apparently can’t be altered while in recess.

If the group of Republican detractors stays around 20, this doesn‘t even seem so unlikely. The detractors must bank on McCarthy bleeding enough Support to create a narrative/momentum, but their side hasn‘t grown significantly. It will take a couple of days, but as long as people like Gym Jordan or MTG stay in McCarthy‘s camp, it seems like they will ne Anke to out pressure on the detractors. I am pretty sure someone like Boebert dies not want those two+ Trump to tell her voters how she put the Dems in power.

If McCarthy does it the right way to do it is spring it fast IMO. Make sure you have enough supporters willing to support a plurality vote. Stand up and announce you won the caucus vote overwhelmingly voted me caucus head, its time to get onto the peoples business, and now its an up or down vote for whether the GOP keeps the speakership.
this is the first vote i’ve watched, and it blows my little mind that in 2023, they have to call out each member by name and this bitch with the pencil and piece of paper crosses them off as they go.

Who do we hate more Scalise or McCarthy?
I think McCarthy is drawing dead. Absolutely zero chance that this group of GOP defectors ever votes for him. He has no bargaining chips (already agreed to everything).
Shorting him at 30c is free money.
