They interviewed him earlier and he looked a little disheveled. He said he’s been away for 4-5 years and when asked “what keeps bringing you back to this game?” he said “Just love to compete, love to win, just try my hardest to do what’s right.” The “to do what’s right” part seemed a bit off to me lol

Hot Take: Phil Hellmuth actually sucks at deep stack no limit. That’s why he always arrives late, so he can begin play with medium to shortish stacks for easy coin flip decision making. Phil is a coin flip expert. He can’t read your soul or any of that hoo ha. He flips coins good and has an elite level tilt-game.

What a stupid fucking entrance. Like I feel bad for Vince Vaughn being put through that, coming off like a joke like Hellmuth when he does that shit - and Phil is doing it to get sponsorships. The WSOP hires a movie star and comedian to emcee, and they make him dress up like fucking Caesar? What are they thinking?
Have him do some bits for TV, have him actually emcee some stuff and tell some jokes, have him go on some late night talk shows and plug the WSOP, have him host a game with some movie stars or something, I dunno. Seems like tons of things you could do that are way better than that.

In case you’re wondering how I’m playing/running, I folded A4cc on AK4ssd vs the whale in the game without putting a single dollar in postflop. After I folded he showed AK. I somehow had the God seat on the whale and a sick live read on when he was bluffing and monster, and enough insight into his value thresholds to make that fold, and not only lost on the session, got smoked by the whale.
