2022 World Series of Poker - Commonwealth goes on a heater

Did you have a reservation or just walk in? I’d like to go with my buddy but hard to make a reservation around tournaments.

$13 Space Dust hurts.

That’s criminal.

Did you find it tilting that your server’s name was a misspelled version of Israel?

Walked in, theres an area for it i think. They offered to move us inside but i didnt find it necessary. It was dark, loud and they had a dj inside. Im way too old for all those words.

Its also opened relativey late (we walkin at 10:15).

Played 2-5 at aria after and the game sucked once more. Like the worst table ever at my casino is better than the best table i had in this trip.

I will also say that id never ordered tempura on my own but one member asked for it and it was way better than i expected.

Also a total kimchi noob but i loved it. Hope its not just me getting excited for korean food and its legit as good as i thought.

Had dim sum at aria for lunch in that chain i forget its name. Was good. Spicy won ton is the best dish there but i doubt its a hot take

I assume the dim sum joint was din tai fung (from Seattle area). I think they have one in Vegas now.

ETA: always thought it originated in Seattle but I guess it’s just a world wide chain or something.

Ya. Had it last time too. Also had tacos el gordo. Cabeza and pastor were elite, suadero was either sliced wrong or undercooked.

Unimportant rating -

Best Friend - 9
Bang Bar - 8.5 (i think wrap>bowl otherwise a 9)
Tacos El Gordo - 7.5
Din Tai Fung - 7
Lotus - 6 (8 for the good dishes but some were flat out average)

there’s a din tai fung near me. always an hour+ wait. not a big dumpling guy but it still impressed the hell out of me.

I had a brief chuckle, but I’m glad you got it sorted in the end.

The first Seattle area location wasn’t even the first one in the US.

Suggestions for lunch walking distance from aria?

I have been there a ton and I never tried it until your last post on the subject. They’re good, but I’m just not a huge fan of the Szechuan peppercorns in the sauce. I still like the XLB better.

Their Xiao Long Bao is heavenly

I feel like these peppercorn have an addictive quality. I disliked them at first to the point of not eating any dish with it and now i seek them out.

The XLB with the crab and pork was better than just pork, which was a bit one dimensional to me.

Have heard good things about Zen kitchen and Hattie B’s

While im summarizing i thought park mgm was really surprisingly adequate. Decent room, nice redesign, shower had great water pressure which is a pet peeve of mine. Location is top notch, especially if you play at aria.

I had it comped but regular prices really affordable too. Not a great fit for couples but very good for a solo trip unless you plan to spend lots of time in the room.

Smoke free is a nice perk if you’re a non-smoker too.

Games dead all regs

It’s crazy. I tried to reg around 1:30 and the word on the street was a 3+ hr wait to be seated. Decided to bail and fire the GN main instead. $400 saved!
