“Center” should theoretically represent someone who has no preference between socialism/communism and capitalism, based on how we use the left/right scale, no? I think people commonly use “center” when they mean “median,” which I think is what you’re doing here, but if we’re using left/right to distinguish between beliefs, it’s possible that more than half of the population ends up on one side of the scale.

I should not know who Pete Buttigieg is. In a just world, the name Bari Weiss would mean as much to me as Nordic runes. This goes for people who actually might read Nordic runes too. No Swede deserves to be burdened with this knowledge.
