The dude behind the kid seems way too casual about the whole thing. Just takes a few steps back and then walks up to pay after the kid leaves. WTF.
Kid is also very casual. Like he’s done it a million times. Just strolls right out. No rush.

So I have a new worst fear.
Had a patient last shift where his heart stopped the moment I walked out of the room. Not too unusual, and I had been thinking he didn’t look good and needed to go a resuscitation room right away. Still though, surprise codes are the worst. It’s utter chaos for the first 30-60s.
Anyways we’re working through that chaos with me doing compressions waiting for the calvary to arrive. Again, nothing too unusual. Then the guy grabs my arms as I’m doing compressions. Normally, this is a good sign. They’re getting enough blood to their brain to be conscious, usually means the heart has started again.
So I stop compressions, and he immediately goes pulseless again. This begins the cycle of about 5 minutes of a man being awake while we do chest compressions. It’s terrifying. Eventually I get him sedated with a huge ass dose of ketamine, then paralyze him to stop him from grabbing at us while we worked.
Put him on ventilator, gave him some fancy meds, got him back. Got him somewhat stable. He went off for an emergent pacemaker. First time in awhile I did some real fucking medicine in awhile.

The umpire was yelling at him for something. Probably taunted the pitcher on the way around but what did he say to justify that attack.
Anyway, video’s a bit old. Pitcher got booted off the team. Batter suspended for 2 games as well as anybody who left the bench, meaning that North Central forfeited the next two games due to lack of players.
I have lice ptsd as one of my brothers mercilessly teased me about seeing lice crawling in my hair. I never had lice, but it tilted me to no end as a child being teased.
