The Kansas City scenes are blocks away from my dad’s apartment, and the Overland Park scenes are blocks away from my mom and stepdad’s house.
I think it was something like 10 years ago the government here made it legal to ride bikes on the sidewalk. Ludicrous to prohibit it on busy roads with no bike lane.
As someone who actually walks on sidewalks, I generally hate sidewalk riders. I’ll make an exception for kids, but that’s it.
The nut low are the ones who use the road and then change to sidewalk/crosswalk, so they can cross on red and the they go back to road. Fuck those people.

Think about debt forgiveness, how should college be funded?
The current method is poor but ok if you’re going to be well compensated in the end but if you make a bet and it doesn’t pay off then you’re royally fucked.
It seems like on the consumer end, ending loans and going to a straight pay for use would go great with increasing income taxes on the higher end as a way of having those who benefit pay without screwing over those who don’t.
Putting on the state or national tab would be a way to limit excess spending by colleges as well.
The sector needs thorough reform to reduce costs, then since education is both a public good and of private benefit to the student, the cost should be subsidized by the government. In Australia students pay about half the cost of university (costs which are much lower because very few students live on campus). Debt is then zero-interest, indexed to inflation, and you only have to pay it back if you’re earning above a certain threshold (basically an increase in tax rate in the higher tax brackets). I think my debt on graduation was about $40,000.
