I feel like the Browns are in a shitty spot because Baker’s another one of those QBs right around that level where you’re not thrilled to stick with him but you’re likely to downgrade if you give up on him (see Carr discussion in other thread). Given he’s been playing with a bum shoulder that should be OK next season, and the upside he’s shown in a couple of his previous years, giving him his option year to see what he’s got isn’t unreasonable. Worst case, you have another shitty year and a decent draft pick and kill time until there are better QBs to draft.
Carr>>Baker tho
Baker can’t play the “I’m injured” card when the problem is his decision making. He also telegraphs his throws and gets a ton of balls batted at the line. And oh by the way the Browns have an elite offensive line and running game.
I tried to hang in but the guy just doesn’t have it. They need to cut him loose.
I read The Fountainhead in high school because of a scholarship poster. Used the paper as my voluntary essay in AP English. Got utterly destroyed, my worst grade on anything I actually tried to do well.
It was a horrible paper but I didn’t even understand the hornet’s nest I was walking into doing an essay on Ayn Rand. Pretty certain my teacher was pissed and while I don’t think she intentionally held the paper to a higher standard, I do think she was a bit ungenerous.
I did kind of enjoy that. Just noticed that the Dundies on the desk are “Dawggies”, nice touch.
I had to read Ayn Rand for a class on political ideologies. The professor chose Anthem “because it’s short”.
I read some of that John Galt speech. Dunno, seems like pretty good masturbatory material for people who are into that stuff.
Anybody want to do an online book club with Atlas Shrugged and see how long it takes people to give up?
I read Anthem like 15-20 years ago. I liked the short length of it. It was terrible, so it saved me from ever thinking about trying her longer works.
I’ll do an Ayn Rand book burning club.
He pumps twice while looking right at a wide-open receiver? The view was bound to change after that 3rd pump.
Exactly. A healthy Baker is far better than what he showed this season, but not good enough consistently enough to be The Guy.
But there’s really no one out there in the draft or available in a trade that would be an immediate significant upgrade.
What would the Browns’ record be this season with Andy Dalton as their starter?
well Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Deshaun Watson are available…
well he would’ve gotten injured by game 2 so
All would be talent upgrades, but one is a wacko, another a sex offender, and none of them are likely to play in a Browns uniform anytime soon.
What would the Browns record be if they’d had Kaepernick for the past three years?
