That being said, my favorite is “No les creeré” (We don’t believe them) by Newen Afrobeat, about some rather recent kerfuffle in Chile I know not much more about. Very danceable, as an Afrobeat/Latin Jazz song very fresh genre-wise; and I love the high-pitched background chants. Plus a cool Sax-solo, so what’s not to like?
This entire album is a fuck you to the current fascists holding office. El and Mike’s mastery is par for the course but, interesting to note, Zach De La Rocha’s verse goes just as hard as any of the RATM bangers.
