benediction is really full. like the Auction House is straining at all hours of the day. i just did a scan this morning real quick and it scanned 176k auctions.
westfall used to be around 38-40k auctions.
oh you should set up the tsm desktop app, it’ll sync the AH automatically without having to scan. faerlina AH has been unusable for days but we’re used to it, I expected this a while back apparently and already had stocked up on what I needed
my only knowledge of them is from the forums and from seeing them in bgs and it seems pretty normal. they just are very fond of their server since its the only “REAL PVP” left.
i generally reply to them with the insult that they should go back to rp’ing in the inn

faerlina PVP used to be awesome. like, I know a lot of content creators out there hate world pvp and think it’s essentially just a fancy word for griefing, but seriously, I love the thrill that comes with leveling in a zone and having to keep your eyes peeled for bogeys lest ye be ganked, and the fun mind games that ensue afterward.
When I started on faerlina ~may 2021 it was 40/60 horde/ally because of asmongold. Last I checked there were only 90 alliance on the entire server. They hung on for a while after asmongold left, but I think we dominated the summoning stones a little too hard. Every phase it was pretty hard for them to enter the raids so they all just transferred.
thats another reason I kind of want off, I dont want to play on a PVP server that’s essentially a PVE horde server. gross.
even shit like, my priest/druid that are parked outside of BF to buff my DK keep getting ganked because some dork bought an ally rogue boost on faerlina just to fuck with people and I forget when I have them logged in sometimes, it’s annoying yea but also kind of funny switching back to the second box I forgot was on and being like “oh, well, of course I’m dead even though there’s like 6 allies on this server.”
yeah that happened to me on my druid once. i was hovering in flight form too low. and a warlock ganked me as i was just engaging a pack on my dk…
also benediction already at a 50minute Que at 3:30 server time… lol

the nice thing with mutli accounting and mega-pop servers is there are usually 8+ layers on during times like this and you can just hop to the others as you please if stuff gets annoying. people say that’s cheating o/s but it’s a survival mechanism on these types of servers. I hit 70 on my hunter within a few days of TBC dropping with 100% questing and it was the only way I was able to do it (plus hunter is generally good at defending ganks)
the thing that is really unpleasant is when people form 10+ person death balls that just go wrecking everyone’s time, I hate that, but there’s not enough pop to do that here anymore
My DK leveling is so slow. i dont know why. probably need better gear, I’m nearly 67. I tried sethekk but was a bit too much. I’m gonna try full clear BF next.
My DK got an invite out of nowhere to J U G G E R N A U T which is a raiding mega guild which is actually 10 smaller guilds within itself. It’s nice to have a character in a guild like this to find players to raid with and form raiding connections.
My druid is still in a smaller raiding guild that did pretty well in SWP. They’ve taken me once or twice and liked me and I told them a while back I’d return for WOTLK.
Then, I made a 2nd DK on the other account, whos gonna boost my 63 pally through BF. Him and my boosted rogue are gonna form a PVP guild. that’s roughly the game plan. i’m excited for this expansion. it’s a lot easier to play it more casually than TBC is.
Stats when my druid hit 70 vs 10 minutes after… I did a fair amount of AV while leveling to 70 and was able to get 5 pc Brutal set + MH + OH, and holy shit what a different game… I only put green +spell power gems in, don’t have any enchants yet, and still have a bunch of low 60s greens too. Kinda wild how much a difference it makes

My healing took a big hit with the gear changes - i’m only at 1k now on my druid. hardly seems to matter. i did a bunch of dungeons for $$$ (people were paying me up to 100g per run, which i can hardly believe as a healer) and a ZA, and my god, I hadn’t yet experienced WOTLK resto druid really, it pumps so hard. I was out dpsing almost everyone as the healer with hurricane and my 1k spell dmg. just waited for a clear cast proc and then started pumping. so sweet
another nice thing about mega-pops, demand for items is usually nuts. I didn’t realize how much money I’m making on my DK. Planars are going for 20g/each right now.
I really hate that my choices for lots of raiding stuff is either:
a) uber toxic guild that likes to throw around words like f** and n***** among everything else you can imagine that comes along with that. also tend to be overly sweaty for their skill level. eg, not even close to as good as they think they are.
b) dad guild that’s fun but can’t clear content no matter how hard you try to spoonfeed them
People really still say that stuff now? I barely remember it from 2006 certainly not the n word. And I was damn sweaty for a while.
I’ve found that kind of language to be rare, although on smaller servers it’s almost impossible to avoid derpy political takes in lfg. Also, having played on a handful of teams now at the end of tbc, every clearing team I’ve been on leans dad guild but has also been pretty good at unnerfed content. Can’t speak to nosebleed world first guilds and how toxic they get, but for raiding on a bigger server your choices are definitely more varied than toxic guild that clears content and dad guild that doesn’t.
I’ve yet to not see it, idk, maybe it’s my server. it’s the sweaty tryhard “streamer” server historically.

Have you ever thought about forming your own guild in your own image jmakin? Would be a lot of work but might be worth it as much as you play.
My partner and I have 7 or so toons that are 68-70 but I am on the fence about continuing to play. Pretty burned out. Would consider joining the jmakin guild though.
I am working on it, I’m bad at recruiting though and it takes tons of work. In the past I’ve always designated someone as a recruiter that likes to do it. what has happened in my last 2 guilds is I join an already formed guild, then the GM eventually makes me the hand of the king, that hasn’t been working at all though because when I don’t have final say I get annoyed sometimes because I have strong opinions.
that was the plan w/ this expansion though. I have enough characters and accounts to make a go of it on my own and just pug I guess. I clash with people really bad on this server, there’s just a certain combination of arrogance + not actually knowing how the game works that drives me insane. then the racism/homophobia etc.
like i had a DK officer in this same guild try to tell me that frost DK is “the” tank spec. Ok man. you’re gonna see week 1 why that’s wrong but you do you. it’s not like i’ve been playtesting this for the last 6 months or anything, you clearly have more knowledge of this having played it exactly 4 days.
We are in Azuresong(alliance) for PVE and Sulfuras(horde) for PVP which are both pretty dead servers or at least were for TBC. There are 5 of us who play fairly seriously although we suck to various levels. Our guild on Azuresong is ok i guess for how low the pop was. None of us have any experience raiding so we would probably quickly be added to the list of people you are frustrated with haha.
I honestly haven’t played for like 3-4 weeks though so no idea if it picked up once this expansion kicked off. I imagine it has to be a better server than Old Blanchy (LOL)
