nah i dont get frustrated w/ inexperience when people listen to instruction or at least try. i get frustrated when people expect to be carried through stuff and lash out when they aren’t or blame others for their own failures, which is an attitude that infests the semi-competitive guilds, at least here anyway. i spent all of tbc carrying casual players through hard content, i like it, that wasnt what drove me nuts.
speaking of old blanchy i went to take care of a 15 min errand and find my 2nd box druid/priest which was buffing my dk got logged out and am hit with a 2 hour queue. go to look where I can xfer, old blanchy is what theyre offering. pass.
Same tbh. Although I guess i get frustrated at both extremes. I assume the lesser servers will fill up but not with the higher end guilds/players which may be good actually depending on how you look at it.
there’s a reason people to go the mega pops, to me I’d never play a low pop again. I played an australian oceanic server that was like a tenth of the size of this in vanilla classic. I like faerlina because even at 2:30 am you can find a pug running for just about anything, the AH has tons of competition, etc.
from a technological level unless they made really stupid decisions, I can’t imagine why servers can get “full” in a particular region (like us-east-1) when they have stuff like layering. can’t you just always scale out and add more layers? make one PVE and one PVP server for each region. seems like a no brainer.
oh the real solution to my faerlina toxicity problem is to just learn spanish. the “jaja” (which I considered a slur when I started here, long since gave up on that front, am so desensitized to this shit now, ugh) guilds are actually fairly competent and from what I gather not toxic at all, except they have a tendency to batter themselves against content for way too long before giving up from what I’ve seen.
I’m just gonna have to turn off guildchat. Someone said gz to hitting 70 finally on my dk, I said thanks, gotta do it again now on 2nd account. like 5 people jumped all over me calling me an idiot that doesn’t know about dual spec.
uh, no, I know, but blood tanks in wrath always need a dps offspec, because they switch back and forth depending on the fight. and since I want to pvp, I don’t want to change my dps offspec to a pvp spec every single time i play pvp which will be at least once a week. conservatively i spent 20k on respecs in tbc. never again. it’s perfectly logical, even as I explained it I could tell they didn’t really understand at all what I was talking about
plus, a free level 55 that can easily hit 70 is another 2 profession slots. you can never have enough 70s IMO. when I’m done with the DK and pally i will have 8. lol.
pally is 63. i started him in tbc prepatch. the second account DK is gonna just have the paladin on /follow and boost him at the same time.
my druid (2nd box) spent 9 hours in queue yesterday. One 4 hour queue was for the simple crime of having taken a shit. When I left my PC, he was not even <away>, when i came back 15 mins later I was logged out, disconnected, and hit with queue. The DK was not.
I’m guessing they have some anti-botter stuff going on right now to prevent people from being semi-afk like I was. he was moving around once in a while to not get kicked but apparently they worked around that, because I went long ass periods of AFK on my DK yesterday and never got kicked out a single time.
So, this is really infuriating to me from a technological perspective because it’s pure corporate greed. They could spend a paltry amount of money to beef up these servers during peak and improve their capacity, unless there’s software limitations I’m not aware of (really doubt given the fact that layering exists). So, clearly they see they have a queue time problem and it’s causing a bad gameplay experience, but instead of trying to make that experience better, they do the thing that helps their bottom line and makes mine worse. Same thing with why the AH isn’t working, I figured out they put a rate limiter on the AH requests, rendering it essentially unusable on faerlina the entire last week.
They do this with everything. They’re trying to balance out their server pops by annoying you into doing it. Sorry, I am NOT going to old blanchy. Give me freedom to transfer anywhere and I may consider it. I’d be willing to go to a medium pop, but when you present my only option as a fucking zero pop fresh server, that’s an unbelievably bad deal that only a sucker would take.
massive pvp banwave went out yesterday apparently. for “non participation”. length of the ban is 30 days. lol. so they are going to miss wrath start.
as someone that received one previously, i fully believe the people that are complaining they were banned unjustly. when i appealed mine i asked where i was non participating and if it was alleged in SoM or TBC and they didnt even have an answer for which version of the game it was, let alone anything about individual characters or battlegrounds.
yea people are getting wrongly banned all over the place. it’s been a problem for a while. I’ve had no issues with some of the behavior people have described getting ban for - such as defending towers or the boss in AV, I do believe blizz is lazy and probably just bans people who get x reports and doesn’t look at anything closely.
that sucks dude, I’m sorry. I’ve almost considered not even playing AV but I really need the weapons for a few of my guys
if they didnt want people doing harpies or the kobolds in the mines then they shouldn’t give exp. its extremely efficient to farm those as you level right now with the honor gear rewards plus the exp in bgs.
i was getting something like 200-250k xp per hour doing harpies plus the honor for 70.
oh shit I was doing those. hope i dont catch one, jfc. why put those quests and stuff in the game if you don’t want people doing it? it’s classic blizz punishing you for crap that’s not even your fault.
for instance, they were handing out GNARLY bans for people using the mole drill thing that teleports you if you right click it in the AV starting cave. Like, if you dont want people doing that, JUST MAKE IT UNABLE TO BE USED IN THE BATTLEGROUND FFS.
you know if they just put a forfeit vote option in the bg’s it’d eliminate a lot of the behavior that gets people banned.
for instance, in an AB or EOTS situation where you are getting crushed it’s often the only correct thing to just sit in your base and let them win. i never do, i just charge in over and over and die so i dont catch a ban like this.
GOD DAMNIT I took a shit again, came back to this, that acct i needed to work on my mining while im in meetings (not work) all evening… fuckin hell dude
they seemed to have removed the grp xp bonus? I am duo boxing my 65 paladin and 61 second DK thru BF and it’s basically just XP/2 for each of them. I do more damage with two of them, so it’s obviously more xp/hr, but I was a bit annoyed by that. i thought there was a group bonus to xp.
also considering maining paladin. this class is absurd. DK is not the super class in WOTLK. it’s actually paladin. every spec is nuts, pve, pvp, doesn’t matter.
