If anything, you can spin yourself into a member of the culture war by talking about how the right attack reality and all that shit if you get narc’d.
Living and teaching abroad has some pretty major disadvantages but getting a teaching job in America seems awful.
This job is actually pretty great for the time I’m in the classroom. Adult students, no grading, get to put on a half-comedic performance and normally I get to shoot the shit on politics and other stuff that’s technically outside the lines, but my students like me so much that nobody has complained in a decade. It’s like a four-hour ego trip for me every class. CA is way better than FL, though, because my jokes, which are entirely punching up, actually get laughs. To their credit, the FL students seem to recognize I’m punching them.
Pretty much describes my classroom experience here though it’s mostly with older teens.

Annoying NYC apartment porn. $200/month for all those amenities is pretty amazing. Guessing that cost is baked into the rent a lot more.
That’s a big new development on the Upper West Side. It’s the group of buildings with the angular roofs to the right of this picture. But those one bedroom rental rates aren’t cheap. That’s a lot more than I was paying for a 2BR apartment several years ago.
Place seems cool, but just had 1 of most things. Imagine I would end up mostly just raging that other people are using them when I wanted to.
And if the amenities were somehow readily available then that must mean they suck and I don’t want to use them either

Wednesday’s hearing was ostensibly about the failure of the FBI’s Indianapolis field office to conduct any semblance of an investigation when the case came to it. Confronted with credible reports and victims willing to speak to them, the FBI did almost nothing.
It “did not undertake any investigative activity” for “five weeks,” according to a Department of Justice report. It then interviewed one complainant via telephone but never bothered to contact “the other two gymnasts who they were told were available to meet with FBI investigators.”
The FBI then went back to sitting on the case for eight months. During that time, the agent leading the case, Jay Abbot, sought a post-retirement job with the USOC and worked with the president of USA Gymnastics in an effort to attain it.
Meanwhile, Nassar, still free and operating in mid-Michigan, continued to rape young girls. His victims who wanted action were told to be quiet due to the “ongoing FBI investigation.”
At least 100 additional girls were sexually molested as the FBI provided cover.
“They allowed a child molester to go free for more than a year,” McKayla Maroney said. "What is the point of reporting abuse if FBI agents are going to take it upon themselves to bury that report in a drawer?”

Are you new here? This has been discussed to death in multiple threads. There has been some “reminiscing”, as you put it, but it is apparently frowned upon. I guess if it’s topical, then that’s a bit different.

For instance, I remember arguing with him about something and his wife actually responding for him for several posts, lol. Can’t recall what it was about specifically but IIRC she and I both are therapists so it was probably a way to contest something I was saying to him in the realm of mental health. #Ikeswife
I also remember being in a WOAT forum member tourney that I believe Trolley ran annually and narrowly losing to him in the semis. Was low key shook, didn’t realize I’d get as close to passing him in that round as I got.

Unlike most regs here, I didn’t spend that much time in politards. So stuff like this is news to me. There were definitely a couple other things that came up which I don’t think I ever knew.
