Winter 2021 LC Thread—I Want Sous Vide

You’re both vaccinated right? Might want to just suck it up and go on the vacation for the sake of your marriage. Take a xanax and drink on the plane.

Just go drive somewhere nearby. Has to be something fun in driving distance.

I will need xanax and drinks from the moment we arrive at the airport until the moment we are in a cab leaving the other airport, lol.

This has been my main talking point and it is very very true. Hell, we used to drive 9 hours to Connecticut to visit family every July. So there’s plenty of stuff within a 9 hour drive of Toronto.

I think the ultimate winning argument is that when we drive for vacation the dog comes. She will make concessions for the dog, not for me.

This is definitely a possibility. She usually does one vacation a year without me already because she has way more vacation time than I have. A couple of years back she went to Japan for 2 weeks with her brother, I’m suggesting they do something like that again and I can stay on the sofa with the dog.

I think you are reasonably safe from Covid on a plane along as you can fade the morons.

My ex’s refusal to go on a real vacation was the biggest sticking point in our relationship. She would say yes just to get me to quit asking, then when the time came to buy the tickets she’d always have some reason to back out.

Part of it was she didn’t like to fly. But she still does one big vacation with her mom every year. When she flew back to Singapore for a wedding and didn’t want me to come along, that really sucked.

So basically this is nothing like your situation, and everything to do with me always being 3rd in line behind her mom and the cats.

I’m not worried about getting Covid, I’m worried about going to jail for murdering someone because the industry somehow managed to make air travel even more soul destroying than it used to be.

It’s no different than intentionally infecting someone with for example HIV or some other slowly developing disease. At the time it’s only bodily harm but years later it becomes homicide.

Probably take the Xanax and just do it, but if not…

one of these two. It’s all about the dog.

yes, because “nobody wants to work” (a shit job for shit pay)

Was recently at DFW, can confirm. Lol not just paying $30 an hour or whatever when you have constant demand for a $15 pizza that costs nothing to make.

But that’s SOCIALISM!!!

Am currently sitting in DFW. I am reminded how much I HATE this airport.

Great design for planes. Not so great for passengers having to walk between gates that are literally as far apart as geometrically possible.

Oh and it looks like it’s gonna storm so my already-delayed flight out of here will probably be delayed more :rage:

It is a god awful airport. Up there with Miami for WOAT

Logan imo. But it’s not really an important connector anymore so I guess most people can avoid it. But man is it a POS and basically every flight is delayed out and delayed in.

Like cops, All Airports Are Bad. Defund The Airports in my opinion.

Weird. I like that airport because it feels efficient to me.

I will die on the “Atlanta airport is actually good” hill. It is mega efficient, with a great train, good food options, good lounges and minimal delays.

Other good large airports (good small airports are a dime a dozen):

Cincinnati
Detroit
Vegas
Reagan

God awful:

O’Hare
All NYC airports
Philadelphia
Orlando
LAX

Auschwitz was an efficient concentration camp but I wouldn’t call it “good”.

Airports are a festering boil on humanity. Burn them all to the ground.
