I did not expect Kusenko (the UCLA prof) to concede. Good for him.
His whole “I must be right because Laws of Physics!” sure rubbed me the wrong way. Dude’s never done any experimental work I guess? The laws of SCIENCE told me the layer of oxide I deposited on a surface this morning should have been an electrical resistor but damned if it isn’t an amazingly good conductor.

So, like, how does defamation work in this scenario? Can he go after any monied media interest that “knowingly” leaves content up that makes borderline claims?
Doesn’t affect anything. Everyone who called him a rapist had a good faith basis to say that he is one, the decision doesn’t change that.
What about convicted rapist? Is there ever legal risk once a conviction gets overturned and you knowingly let that content stand?
