Winter 2021 LC Thread—I Want Sous Vide

Beastie Boys/Run DMC and Iron Maiden seem like easy pics. Third choice is Bowie, followed by see the Pogues and leave early.

Petty and Floyd for me.

Idk that anyone wanted to kill him. My uninformed guess is he killed himself to go out while giving US the finger. He had cheated death in a lot of stupid ways to die situations.

Actually Beasties would be pre-Pauls Boutique - not sure if I’d be that excited for Licensed to Ill. I’d still see it - but maybe not over the others.

Rodger waters & David Bowie

Roger Waters over Pink Floyd? Explain.

Well he’s obviously left by that time & the rest were err, not good live imo

Dead last for me would be Yes. I hate Yes. 80s Yes even worse.

None of the above

Ah - I forgot this wasn’t the reunion tour. He did come back and play with them later right?

I honestly think if it was me at that age in 1987 I’d have choose Iron Maiden as I’d never really heard of Bowie by then and only heard him when my brother was playing Bowie when his GF was around and I’d be oot the room

So Iron Maiden over Bowie tbh…

Yes I’m sorry Captain Beefheart didn’t play at MSG. Rock hipster status noted.

Don’t sleep in Eddie Murphy in '87.

Sort of, they stopped the legal stuff and moved on from that and played a few gigs, Rodger walked again soon after and the’ve not really spoken since, his interview about it is on YT, no bad feelings but just had to go.

Dosen’t specify if he is doing comedy or singing. Chancy imo.

Pretty sure no one is letting him sing at MSG.

Skipped straight to 2 minutes - heard a guy sounding like a drunk 1850s prospector singing an Irish dirge that he can only remember half the words to into a coffee can. Amazing show!
