Winter 2021 LC Thread—I Want Sous Vide

I appreciate your unusual take. It certainly makes a change from the standard drunk blues guy in a trash can being kicked down a flight of stairs comparison.

Floyd were finished after Animals (which wasn’t exactly great anyway).

Come at me.

lolWall

I guess I’d go with Bowie and rush, but probably feel bad about not going to see Pink Floyd, roger wagers, Eric Clapton,

You’re probably the guy who thinks they went downhill after Syd Barrett. Give me disjointed screeching all day long!

Ask and you shall receive.

Two different bands. Barrett’s Floyd was more interesting, for sure.

Seeing Jerry is 10x the others on the list for me lol. Beastie Boys from PB on meant a lot to me.

I saw The Wall at midnight movies maybe a dozen times. I will never not love that album. Mother, Comfortably Numb and Dirty Woman are instant classics. I agree We Don’t Need No Education can get a little old.

And the other 20 songs?

WYWH is a brilliant album, easily their best post-Syd imo.

hey, i got that cd from bmg.

it’s a really tough top-2 out of three choice between pink floyd, beastie boys / rundmc, and grateful dead.

having said that, before last 10 years i wouldn’t have picked dead.

I could at one time recite the words of all 3 albums of Floyd pretty easily at times and was surprised tbh but I’ve listened to them so much.

The Final Cut, The Wall and Wish you were here which imo just about squeezes out the Final Cut but the album The Wall is also so so good when in the Cinema at midnight on a Saturday as a teenager that it must rank just for that.

I do listen to dark side of the moon for the great gig in the sky as its just so so goooood.

Them boys sure put on a show that’s for sure, overall probably my Favourite band.

Meddle is my fav probably. Piper at gates of dawn is good also.

I must have been already getting old by The Wall. Animals is the last in my library.

If you were referencing Meddle and Piper they were '71 and '67.

iron maiden and pink floyd not a fan of most of the others on the list

Animals and Wish You Were Here are probably my 2 favorites, guess i’m a fan of 70s PF

I actually saw 3 of those tours in '87, although none of them at MSG. Ranking the ones I saw:

Roger Waters > Pink Floyd >>> Rush

The 70s photo you posted says otherwise. You’d fit right in at a Dead/Phish show imo

RIP to a real one
