Who will run in 2020?

What a bunch of misanthropes.

Seat 2 if for those cold days and skinny folks who need a heat and can slide in/out without any problemsā€¦

Seat 5 is my anxiety seat, for days when I canā€™t sit still for a momentā€¦

Seat 1/3 are my good days when I feel like being chattyā€¦ Even though I never speak to folks on a trainā€¦

Seat 4 Is my normal because Iā€™m short and skinny and like my train journeys like my train advertsā€¦

can everyone who drops out do so before the end of hte month instead of two days into the new one every time, Iā€™ve been getting like 50-1 shots on some of this shit and every damn time itā€™s a day or two late.

too late for this, they both missed the filing deadline

In this case the DNC. The establishment in general seems to be pretty unified against any leftist turn the party might be taking, and they seem extra worried about Yang because he does well with centrists and right wing populists.

The last qualifying poll for an early state was before the November debate. There are no good excuses to make.

The polls are run by independent organizations, right?

Correct take. Iā€™ll gladly pull the lever for Biden Iā€™d itā€™s between him and Trump.

That said, itā€™s incredibly naive to think that Reps and Dems can ever work together. The GOP base legit believes that even a minuscule amount of compromise is basically surrender, and since Trumpā€™s rise the left increasingly thinks this way too. That might play well in the general but more likely youā€™re just chasing voters who no longer exist.

Run by the independent organizations and funded by the party. Thatā€™s why the DNC was able to actually say ā€˜weā€™re fine with the polls weā€™ve already run and arenā€™t going to run any moreā€™ a couple of days ago.

I have a suspicion this has something to do with the party being basically bankrupt, but I also know for a fact that there are multiple campaigns that would happily fund them. (Yang and Steyer obviously, but probably others as well)

yes they are

This is not at all how I read the story from a few days ago. The reporting I saw said yang wanted the DNC to take the unusual step of commissioning its own polls since the news orgs werenā€™t doing it. DNC said theyā€™ve never done that before and wonā€™t start now.

Then why go out of their way to undermine his candidacy every single chance they get? A lot of you are super happy to scream bloody murder every time they foul Bernie, but they actively fuck another candidate and who cares right?

MSNBC basically refused to cover him for 11.5 months of 2019 and now the DNC raises the threshold to get on stage and blocks polling where everyone is putting their time and money?

There hasnā€™t been an early state poll since early November and those polls are how you qualify for debates. If this was happening to Bernie I suspect youā€™d see things differently.

To be clear in the 2016 cycle there were LOTS of early state polls in this same time period. Good luck finding a remotely satisfactory explanation for why there havenā€™t been any in that same time period this cycle. Meanwhile weā€™re about to have a January debate with five white people on stage and one candidate under 60 who is a full blown corporate shill who probably peaked right around the time they stopped polling.

Itā€™s not just Yang getting screwed here. Corey Booker has every reason to be furious as well.

The polls arenā€™t run by the DNC, but neither are the NYT or WaPo and they definitely do not want a candidate who upsets apple carts.

Still, I would think the holidays have more to do with polls not coming out than anything else.

Yang has been holding steady at 3% in national polls forever, including those done throughout the month of December. The two non-qualifying Iowa polls in December had him at 2% and 3%.

This isnā€™t a grand conspiracy to keep Yang down.

But it has to be better than the large donor class on all of those points, right?
