I dunno I think in situations like this we should try to convince people. Yeah we can’t really change trumpers minds but maybe we can change moderate libs minds.
I know I pushed my mom and sis to be much more liberal. They’re former Hillary fans who now like Bernies ideas and plan on voting for Warren instead of another centrist.

I think most countries with a publicly funded health service also have private hospitals for those who want to pay extra for it (or who get private health insurance from their employer as a perk) so I don’t see what the fuss is about.

The thing is that they believe they’re getting something extra that they’re not paying for or that they’re getting something better for the same price as everyone else. Both beliefs are immensely screwed up in an “I get mine fuck you and yours” kinda way

Yes, he’s completely incorrect but understands it the same as just about everyone else in this country. Would be nice if our politicians had the correct historical context for the creation of the establishment but it’s not like he was ever going to fight against it even if he knew.

He didn’t go to Harvard in 1915 and he majored in history and literature, not business (to his credit). He couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting two socialists and a communist. If he took a whitewashing line about the founders he was going out of his way to do it.

Yeah… Pete is highly intelligent, which is why he doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. He understands the economics of healthcare in this country well enough to know that the healthcare lobby’s line is evil, and he knows American history well enough to know, in excruciating detail, nearly everything about the founders.
He’s not a good person. His dominant feature is his personality disorder level of ambition, and every other part of him exists to feed that ambition in some way. The reason why he should never have any real power is because he wants it super super badly. This has happened many times through history and it doesn’t end well.
