Who will run in 2020?

He’s still more qualified than the current president is

All this “who’s qualified or not” is horseshit; the current guy literally nobody who uses brain cells would hire for a job or to baby sit their own kids and they still voted for him to babysit the country.

If you don’t like Pete, there’s plenty of merits to be against him use one of those.

That’s not the metric.

Qualification should only be used as a proxy to quality and character. Having accomplished things and knowing how to get things done in Washington has value…if you want to do and can do the right stuff. If you want to do the wrong things, then “qualification” is inversely related to quality.

Disagree, and it’s why Yang is fourth tier behind Booker and Castro despite seeming to have better ideas Imo.

Joe Biden’s the most “qualified” guy and he apparently seriously believes R’s are going to have a change of heart and work with him and other total f’ing delusional nonsense.

And it’s also a matter of just having a record. Hillary talked a good game but what did she do when she had the chance to vote in the Senate? Look up the YouTube of Elizabeth Warren talking about Hillary and the bankruptcy bill.

How many times do we have to watch unqualified slapdicks like Trump fuck things up before we decide maybe experience is a good thing?

I only skim the thread.

What’s the cliffs on Warren going from unstoppable force to “meh. Probably lose to trump”

It’s not too much to ask that for the president of the United States you find a person with some qualifications and experience who you agree with on policy and who you trust.

She backtracked on her Medicare for All plan and admitted she’d need to get elected to a second term to enact it and the best she could do the first term was some sort of public option plan, and even that was based on Dems taking the Senate in 2020.

Also, running a national campaign takes a whole skillset that not everyone has. Nominating someone who’s never even managed a statewide campaign is really rolling the dice.

I wouldn’t worry about that one with Pete. He seems to be doing well on that and will have the full support of the party and the billionaire democrats.

In other words, she told the truth. Always a dangerous thing.

There’s been a giant gap between this forum and me on Warren the whole time–current polling still has her losing definitively to Trump in EV’s in the general.

You’d think as long as she’s been in politics she’d have learned that by now

I’m looking at Real Clear, and the head to head polls are all over the place with only one consistent theme which is that Biden does the best. They suck because there are going to be general election attacks that simply won’t happen in a Democratic primary, at least not nearly to the same degree. Also it’s still the case that much of the general electorate knows nothing or maybe only one thing about any of the candidates.

…and that’s why AFAICT he has zero supporters on this forum.
