Who will run in 2020?

Biden is worse than HRC. He may do better in the electoral college I guess because of the Midwest, so he has a chance. He’ll do worse than HRC in percent of the popular vote. The worst of all his bumbling incoherence is yet to be seen. The campaign for the general will be a nightmare.

Biden vs. Trump is going to be absolutely excruciating. Two early onset dementia clown show olds mumbling incoherently while everyone under 50 searches for an ice pick to jam directly into their eyeballs.

Yeah, this is bullshit.

Obama ran on expanding medical coverage. Most people didn’t follow the details. Running on the ACA isn’t doing that anymore.

That’s a spicy take. Hillary is pretty much universally hated.

Vote-wise the dems are better off not harping on racism. Plenty of dems are racists and so are plenty of swing voters. I’m not saying that’s what they should do, but it’s not a winning issue. Related: immigration is a winning issue for Trump.

The record player slip up would have killed any other campaign, imagine if it had been Bernie that referenced technology 40 years out of date.

Right. That’s why I said it’s often necessary to slam dunk on racists (call them out). The 2016 presidential election result was extremely traumatic for me. I walked around for days in numbing surreal shock as I tried to understand how so many Americans could be okay with electing such a racist, misogynistic, bigot.

Fortunately, I don’t have any Trumpers in my family or immediate circle of friends, but I know many here do. I can’t imagine how they get through Thanksgiving dinner, holiday get-togethers, and deal with them in general. I couldn’t do it. If my mother or father supported Trump, we’d not only be estranged, but I’d disown them. This caused me to re-think everything. The people here who do still hold relationships with close family members that support Trump must not think they’re actually racist. Or if they are, they must excuse it writing it off as simple ignorance, which allows them to think they’re redeemable. Hence, my above post. Maybe if we educate these people by focusing more on class than race, they can be redeemed? I don’t know. Recognizing that racism not only still exists, but remains a huge problem in this country seems so obviously evident to some, yet so hard for others to grasp

Lastly, nothing I’m saying here comes close to fixing racism. But it may win elections and once the right people are in power, we can begin the process of addressing the very deep problem of racial inequality and implement solutions. But until then, we’re pretty much helpless. You and I can call out racism all day long (and I do) for the rest of our lives as individuals, but it won’t have much effect. The entire system needs to change and that starts by winning elections

I’d legit rather have Hillary be the nominee than Biden. And I really despise Hillary.

But fear is an extremely powerful weapon. As much as I’m onboard with M4A, likeminded supporters have seen what a weapon making people fear the change is against that. At the very least, making people afraid of what Trump wants to do to their healthcare should be the centerpiece of any campaign.

OK. The point is, Dems are extremely strong on healthcare and they need to run on that instead of whether Canada will make fun of us.

weird it always seemed he was arguing FOR crony capitalism.

Yeah. Bernie should talk about health care all day long. Biden I guess should talk about the return to normalcy or something.

As usual the original headline left out Bernie. But enough people complained and LA Times caved.

Seems possible actually. When he was Mayor of Burlingham he did his own news show because the media was so shitty to him.
