Who will run in 2020?

Isn’t this effectively what we already do though? Or am I missing something?

https://www.ssa.gov/planners/maxtax.html

When you earn income, including through self-employment, that is covered by Social Security, you pay Social Security taxes each year up to a maximum amount that is set by law. That amount has changed frequently over the years.

For 2019, the maximum amount of taxable earnings is $132,900.

I’m warming up to Steyer. Would never support him but I appreciate what he is doing. Some of his ass are quite good

That’s quite the Freudian slip. You said one thing but I think you meant to say a mother.

If you like his, you should see John Delaney’s after some squats

:joy: the rainbow belt does it for me

You can wipe the smug smile off your face thinking you got me. The machinations of our country would run just fine without a president who’s mostly just a face

You also don’t get to pick which genocides are okay and which aren’t. What Saudi Arabia is doing in Yemen backed by our dollars and equipment is an atrocity. Just because Gabbard calls out our government’s role doesn’t make her a fucking Russian agent regardless of what you, Fox, or anyone else says about her. You’re just following the mainstream narrative

She might very well suck on many issues, but after like +20 posts of back and forth, you’ve yet to provide a single fact or piece of evidence for your ridiculous claim that she’s pro Russia rather than simply being against US interventionism and unnecessary wars, so let’s just end the nonsense back and forth on this. You think you’re winning because others who accept the MSM narrative agree with you, but you’re so really not

I think of the problem as occurring upstream from the loans. For whatever reason (us news rankings), colleges and universities (even very good ones) no longer really do what they’re supposed to do, so a lot of people end up worse off after getting a degree, even though people with degrees are better off on average. The “but how will we pay for it” businessbro that runs my alma mater is currently destroying it’s reputation across the country, but it’s making more money, so that’s good?

The trouble with Buttigieg’s charge is that both Sanders’ and Warren’s plans go further than his by expanding access to trade schools, a major alternative to college. Unlike Buttigieg’s means-tested free college tuition plan, which is limited to traditional four-year colleges and community colleges, Sanders’ and Warren’s free tuition policies also cover two- and four-year trade or vocational school educations and professional apprenticeships.

What? People not dying because they’re too poor to afford healthcare? MALARKEY! And besides, we don’t wanna force people into a system that would let a rich person’s kids use an ambulance FOR FREE. Can you even imagine

Hilarious. It doesn’t cover trade schools. I guess the poors will be paying for the middle class as usual.

jfc, I just lurk & I appreciate the mostly intelligent discussion here.

But there’s two pieces of stupid in your post; and you only tried to make two points.

Mayor Pete bumper sticker sighting

Zero % surprised. Pete has absolutely no integrity, and that’s been obvious since he decided to start taking healthcare money to parrot healthcare talking points.

At this point if you can’t get the candidate you want, say fuck the integrity and just get in the biggest fave to beat Trump even if s/he’s an unprincipled turd (most of them are anyway). That much is at stake.

Lol at that being Pete. We actually need black/hispanic turnout to win the general. HRC conclusively demonstrated what happens when they don’t show up at a higher rate than white voters.

Yea, we might just honestly be screwed, because a significant chunk of the base isn’t going to show up regardless of who ends up on the ballot.

Sorry for being lazy, but curious how Yang polls with this demographic? I’ve heard Bernie doesn’t poll well with black/Hispanics and never understood why. I’m really liking Yang more and more

Pretty sure Biden has the most support of blacks

This isn’t true. He polls the best of any candidate with Hispanics. I’ve not seen any specific statistics, but presumably he is the 2nd pick of Blacks since he is the 2nd pick of Biden voters.
