If the criticism of Tulsi was based on her being bad on one issue then you might have a point. She sucks on a lot of things, and the fact that she is good on some other things doesn’t change that.
Also the fact that she continuously spouts right wing talking points and appears on Fox News makes me doubt her sincerity on stuff like M4A. When someone tries to tell you who they are, listen to them.
No we need to elect capable people who have demonstrated that they aren’t corrupt pieces of shit. If you weren’t a corrupt piece of shit you didn’t last long in Washington this last 30-40 years. Bernie is one of the few exceptions, but he’s survived to a large extent because he’s the most hard headed person I’ve ever seen lol. I say that with a great deal of affection.
You’re not the one who keeps arguing that we shouldn’t send UBI checks to rich people? I may have confused you with someone else but I don’t think so. Fair enough about being done here. I’m done too. Your takes on Yang ITT have been disingenuous and more than a little silly. Eventually someone had to call you out on it.
That last one about calling up his rolodex full of business people was straight from your ass and you know it. You keep generalizing him into that businessperson category even though he’s spent a sizable chunk of his career (the most recent part too) running for office quite well and running a nonprofit which you’ve repeatedly denigrated with absolutely nothing to back it up. Like you’re completely full of shit about claiming you’ve looked at him with any kind of open mind. You hated the very look of him from the get go and then looked for data to match that view. It’s super super obvious from the outside looking in.
Yikes didn’t expect an essay for a reply lol. All I meant was he’s a big dog to win the Dem primary this cycle, but might have a better chance next cycle after another GOP-lite candidate hands Trump another 4 years in office, gift-wrapped. I agree Yang would do well in the General, but he won’t make it there so it doesn’t matter. In the recent poll here, you’ll notice Yang is my #2 behind Bernie, but I’m not optimistic about his chances. He still hasn’t budged in the polls and I just can’t see him gaining traction among the olds. But 4 more years of Trump and 4 more years of old people dying might be the catalyst he needs. (Still unlikely.)
Biden on the debate stage said the root of black people’s struggles is that they’re bad parents (and if only they would invest in a grammar-mo-phone), but it didn’t make a single difference in the polls and he’s still polling #1 with black people. Clearly everyone is tuned the fuck out, and at this point it’s tempting to join them.
Yang would improve the country, but god forbid certain groups of people receive 1k/mo. A lot of people would rather drown than see all boats rise, which is probably why we’re also losing the fight for m4a. “Who’s gonna pay for it” really means, “Why should we pay for those people?” Combined with old people being like, “I gotz mine!”
Yeah fair enough… I’m just good and over the ‘he can’t win’ narrative that gets parroted on the media and this board. I mean realistically we live in a timeline where Donald Trump is fucking president. Maybe we’re all vastly underestimating the odds of long tail stuff happening. The guy raised 2 million dollars since the last debate in almost entirely small dollar donations. When you actually watch him work the eye test suggests that he’s much much much better than the competition. His campaign seems to be making all the right moves at the right moments. He’s achieving all this despite being actively frozen out by the media.
It’s starting to feel like one of those things that’ll be obvious in hindsight is what I’m saying.
I think he’s incredibly awkward and in the absolute bottom tier of debate skills and charisma among the dem field. And I like UBI! I just don’t find him to be a good standard bearer for it.
She’s probably the lowest of the current people for me personally, and Kamala is down there too. But I think probably a lot more people are into Klob’s grumpy mom persona than the socially awkward nerd thing that Yang’s got going on.
That’s super weird. I couldn’t agree less. I think he absolutely destroyed it, and so do a lot of other people who watched. I think he’s clear, he’s concise, and he’s fast on his feet. I mean his response to the Putin question was great, and so was his closing.
Biden is the type that constantly touches you and laughs and looks at you for too long waiting for you to agree with him that something is funny. As far as I’m concerned, no charisma, and far and away the last person I’d have a beer with among the dems. Watching him is painful.
A regular person who is legit funny and smart? Dude… Cheesy big personality charisma Bill Clinton style is dead. Authenticity is everything now. This is the age of the influencer. Being relatable is being charismatic.
Couldn’t agree more and not saying he should stoop to that, just that he’s not the most relatable. Most people aren’t geeks and thus don’t relate with geeks.
