Who will run in 2020?

Disagree. Term limits should be a priority.

If we for example take a 20 year term limit those judges should be past retirement age anyway. If you are still concerned they might need a job, pay them a generous pension. Order one less F35 to pay for it.

The worry isnā€™t that theyā€™d need a job. Itā€™s that theyā€™d be promised board positions for no real work upon leaving the bench. Which is still of course a possibility if a justice chooses to retire.

HAHAHAOHWOW

Ryan was still in it?

Also, the DNC or whoever makes these debate rules needs to talk to a poker tournament director about how to escalate blinds. At this rate there will be five people still on the debate stage the day after the general election.

They should run a pre-primary primary to determine who stays in the debates until the first real one.

The current trend in tournaments have been slower structures. Think of primaries with actual votes being counted as the introduction of antes.

This is generally known as the Iowa caucuses.

I donā€™t get the complaint of it not being narrowed down enough yet, castro isnā€™t making the next debate, the blaine gabbert of the dem party who I wonā€™t name anymore shouldnā€™t, beto probably does but isnā€™t a lock.

Republicans had more than this in a debate during Iowa/South Carolina/etc last go around. Theyā€™re doing fine.

itā€™s just impatience on my part. i like the slowness of the system from a fairness perspective. iā€™m just itching to see a smaller debate with the (inevitable) final 4 (5?)

How many times do we need to hear Pete say conservative things before his supporters admit

A. Heā€™s not progressive
B. Heā€™s just your run of the mill opportunistic politician who will say whatever he needs to trying to appear electable
C. Both

Pete is a Republican. Hard pass, and frankly he has no chance so just stop talking about him.

LOL Klob.

This dynamic where there are 3+ GOP-lite turds, each polling at 1-3%, crowding the stage and piling on Warren is unfair to her and terrible for the party/country. And the debate questions are consistently GOP talking point approved AIDS.

I donā€™t see how Pete is a Republican. He seems like what Iā€™d be looking for in a Cabinet secretary. As a presidential candidate, I think he is insufficiently divisive and doesnā€™t say enough to make corporate America hate him.

How is he qualified to be Secretary of anything? Heā€™s a better candidate for president than he is for a cabinet secretary.

Anecdotally, it happened to my one Pete-supporting friend after the last debate. Heā€™s now done with Pete

He seems like an intelligent person who could competently implement someone elseā€™s agenda. And Iā€™d like to see some appointments who arenā€™t retreads who served in previous administrations.

I could have gotten behind someone like him in 2016, given the alternatives. He doesnā€™t stand out as much to me in the 2020 field.

The only candidate I would have in my cabinet is Warren and probably for Commerce or labor. Kamala is qualified to be Attorney General.
