Whereupon We Pontificate About Poor Media Outlet Choices

I think it’s clear that Trump was saying that the hoax the Democrats are perpetrating is that Trump’s response to Covid was ineffectual. Not that the existence of the disease is a hoax or anything like that.

Obviously I think that’s a dumb thing to say and that Trump’s Covid response was and is obviously bad, but when Biden says that Trump said “Covid is a hoax” he’s being misleading.

Meh, until Trump stops claiming Biden is on drugs I’ll allow it.

Honestly, the most likely explanation for Biden’s enhanced performance the past couple of weeks is that his team of gerontologists have finally gotten his cocktail of adderall and anti-dementia medications just right.

Verdict: mostly true

Strongly disagree.

If you poll supporters in the audience after he makes those remarks, and ask them “is COVID a hoax?”, what % of them say yes? 75%? 90%?

Hint: the answer to this question is ( 1 - % of them wearing masks).

Agreed. His statement as to what exactly was the hoax is very vague. It’s possible that he’s saying the hoax is the idea that his response has been bad. But I think it’s equally as likely that the hoax is the claim that COVID itself is really bad and they should be taking more measures than they are. That would be entirely consistent with his other statements downplaying the risk of COVID.

Amazing. Thank god that ass clown isn’t on tv anymore

I’ve completely lost the ability to discern parody.

With a very few exceptions the conduct of major media figures during the Trump era would be career ending in any actual meritocracy.

Get ready for 6 weeks of this:

The NYT is going to portray literally everything that happens from here on out as bad for Biden and Democrats. And they will treat all the bullshit investigations as legitimate, again. Not to mention how badly they will fuck up the post-election day court battles.

Yesterday the President of the United States not only refused to commit to the peaceful transfer of power, but specifically outlined his plan to “get rid” of ballots and make sure his appointee is on the Supreme Court to steal the election.

Front page news? Right?

Nope. Gotta get to A15. The headline:

To be fair, definitely not as important as Hillary’s fucking emails.

Here’s one thing I’ve never really understood. Why do journalists wait until a person is walking away to ask the actual tough questions? It’s not just trump it happens all the time. I seriously wonder if it is primarily because that’s how it happens in movies.

If it’s Republican senators it’s because they are never not walking away.

It’s mostly the ones who didn’t get called on, and they didn’t get called on because they were likely to ask tough questions.
